Bristleback, taking away much of his durability.
* Doom prevents Bristleback from casting his two low cooldown abilities, which then prevents him from utilizing Warpath.
Arc Warden
* Arc Warden relies on items and abilities, as well as his {U:Tempest Double}, to deal damage to enemies. Doom effectively denies that and makes Arc Warden useless in fights.

[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 2%)Arc Warden
* Song of the Siren stops Arc Warden from acting and allows Naga Siren's team to close in on him, past his Magnetic Field.
* Mirror Image dispels Flux. The illusions created from it also disable the slow from Flux if Arc Warden casts it after Mirror Image.
* Arc Warden's playstyle heavily favors split-pushing, which Naga Siren can compete against with her illusions.
Additional:
* Her illusions can push better than Arc Warden's Tempest Double because Mirror Image has a longer duration.
* Mirror Image dispels Flux, and the illusions stop Flux from working.
Ursa
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 16%)Bristleback
* Bristleback's tankiness doesn't help him very much against Fury Swipes in long teamfights.

Centaur Warrunner
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 4%)Arc Warden

* Centaur Warrunner deals huge AoE damage and applies an AoE disable through Hoof Stomp, affecting the double as well the main Arc Warden.
* Magnetic Field is not very effective against melee heroes.
* This ability also increases his allies' attack speed, meaning Retaliate will deal more damage.
* Stampede catches him easily due to the lack of escape mechanisms.
Timbersaw
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 7%)Bristleback
* Whirling Death deals damage as well while reducing 15% of Bristleback's strength, which reduces Bristleback's tankiness.

* Phantom's Embrace silences Viscous Nasal Goo and Quill Spray.

Chen
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 0%)Arc Warden
* Chen in the early game is a faster pusher than Arc Warden until Arc Warden buys Maelstrom or Necronomicon.
Faceless Void
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 41% pickrate: 3%)Bristleback
* Time Dilation prevents Bristleback from spamming his low-cooldown abilities, greatly reducing his damage and effectiveness.
* Chronosphere allows allies to resposition and hit Bristleback from the front, bypassing his defensive bonus from behind.
* Bristleback has no way to prevent Faceless Void from using Time Walk.
Additional:
* Time Dilation while Quill Spray and
Viscous Nasal Goo are on cooldown will make these abilities unusable for a long time, rendering Bristleback nearly useless.
* Bristleback cannot turn inside the Chronosphere, which makes it easy to attack him from the front, completely bypassing his passive damage reduction.
Ancient Apparition
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 10%)Bristleback
* Heroes that withstand damage like Timbersaw,
Bristleback,

Batrider
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 4%)Bristleback
* Batrider's turn rate slow from
Sticky Napalm makes it harder for Bristleback to keep his back towards the enemy.
Shadow Demon

* Heroes with summons or illusions to counter Flux, such as {Hero ID:Beastmaster} , Chen, or

Soul Catcher hinders Bristleback's tanking capabilities.
Demonic Purge with
Aghanim's Scepter disables Bristleback's passive.

Additional:
* Magnetic Field prevents Legion Commander from getting wins with Duel.
Lina

Terrorblade,
Arc Warden,
Broodmother.
Necrophos
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 3%)Bristleback
* Reaper's Scythe and
Heartstopper Aura deal percentage-based damage, ignoring Bristleback's high health.
* Heartstopper Aura's HP removal does not trigger Bristleback's passive.
Additional:
* Heartstopper Aura deals percentage-based damage flagged as HP removal, so it is not reduced by Bristleback, nor does it trigger passive
Quill Sprays.
* Reaper's Scythe is very effective against Bristleback not only due to its percentage-based damage, but rather because it first stuns and then deals its damage, allowing Necrophos to position in front of Bristleback in time.
Bristleback
* Enemies that possess high defenses through magic resistance, damage reduction, or high regeneration will make it difficult to whittle their health down to get to Reaper's Scythe's threshold. Such heroes include Bristleback (although only from behind),
Spectre,
Ursa, and
Dragon Knight.
Pangolier
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 10%)Arc Warden

Sniper,
Templar Assassin,
Arc Warden
Viper
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 5%)Bristleback
* Nethertoxin disables Bristleback's passive.
* Viper Strike and
Poison Attack slow down Bristleback's movement speed so he's unable to get out from Nethertoxin.
Additional:
* Nethertoxin's break removes Bristleback and prevents

* Viper can perpetually kite Bristleback with Poison Attack and Viper Strike.
Arc Warden
* Ranged heroes will have a hard time hitting enemies inside Magnetic Field: Silencer,
Viper.
Silencer
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 6%)Bristleback
* Arcane Curse stacks every time Bristleback uses an ability, forcing him to stop spamming his abilities, or take heavy health degeneration.
* Glaives of Wisdom steals intelligence both permanently and temporarily, causing mana issues for Bristleback .
* Last Word and
Global Silence stops Bristleback from using his abilities altogether.
Additional:
* Bristleback will not be able to cast Viscous Nasal Goo or
Quill Spray while silenced, effectively blocking a major part of the hero's damage and preventing
Warpath charges from stacking.
* Arcane Curse slows Bristleback down and lasts longer the more abilities he uses. On the other hand, if he doesn't use any abilitiess, he will begin to lose Warpath charges.
Arc Warden
* Ranged heroes will have a hard time hitting enemies inside Magnetic Field: Silencer,
Viper.
Medusa
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 3%)Arc Warden
* Unlike other illusion heroes, Tempest Double won't be instantly destroyed by Stone Gaze since it is considered a clone and not an illusion.
* He can use either his own or his double's Flux to bypass the spellblock from Linken's Sphere, using the leftover Flux +
Spark Wraith to slow Medusa's move speed to a crawl.
* Arc Warden has a farming advantage with double Hand of Midas, and can generally bully Medusa with other items that benefit from duplication.
Bristleback
* Other heroes who has armor and slow debuffs won't allow Medusa to disengage from combat: Tidehunter,
Bristleback,
Slardar.
Huskar
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 3%)Bristleback
* Bristleback's tankiness and Bristleback allow him to outlast Burning Spears' damage-over-time at almost any point in the game. In addition, if Huskar chooses to cast Life Break on Bristleback, Bristleback can simply turn around before it hits and receive little damage.
* Viscous Nasal Goo will reduce Huskar's low armor even further, and
Quill Spray and
Warpath will tear him down extremely quickly.
Additional:
* The damage from Burning Spear can be reduced by turning away from Huskar.
* Bristleback can bait Huskar into using Life Break on him, then turn around and receive very little damage.
Arc Warden
* Heroes with illusions can overwhelm Huskar, as he has no AoE abilities: Phantom Lancer,
Anti-Mage,
Arc Warden,
Chaos Knight.
Puck
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 17%)Arc Warden
* Arc Warden can turn Puck's Phase Shift ability against him by using Spark Wraith, ensuring it to hit. To make this worse, Arc Warden can do it twice with his
Tempest Double.
* Flux is also an instant spell (and therefore unavoidable) with a heavy slow and damage over time, which disables Blink Dagger for a certain period of time.
Bristleback
* Bristleback,
Centaur Warrunner,
Spirit Breaker,
Pudge,
Huskar: These heroes are too tanky for Puck to burst down. Also, all of them have spells which can deal with and shut Puck down reliably.
Venomancer
[wiki] rating: -1.2 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 5%)Bristleback
* Heroes with damage-over-time abilities will not only proc Bristleback's passive continuously, they will also do little harm to him when he is facing away from the source: Venomancer,
Arc Warden
Arc Warden
* Any hero that can outrange Plague Ward can neutralize them without putting themselves at risk of receiving Poison Sting: Arc Warden,
Chen,
Clinkz,
Drow Ranger,
Lina,
Mirana,
Nature's Prophet,
Pugna and
Sniper.
* Special mention to heroes has attack range talent can also outrange Plague Ward.

* Heroes who continue dealing damage while being stunned: Luna,

Axe,
Bristleback,
Leshrac,
Arc Warden
* Heroes that can slow Charge of Darkness by a huge amount: Venomancer,
Viper,
Dazzle,
Arc Warden
Enchantress
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 42% pickrate: 1%)Arc Warden
* Magnetic Field makes Impetus miss; if Enchantress decides to enter the field, she is giving up bonus damage since Impetus deals greater damage at higher distance away from targets.
Tiny
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 6%)Bristleback
* Bristleback decreases Tiny's high burst damage against Bristleback.
* Tiny's high damage will also proc Bristleback multiple times.
* Viscous Nasal Goo can help counteract the bonus armor granted by Grow.
Lone Druid
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 1%)Bristleback
* Lone Druid and The Spirit Bear cannot burst down Bristleback due to Bristleback
* Bristleback can easily run to Lone Druid without any hesitation, with Viscous Nasal Goo to reduce armor and slow the Spirit Bear or Lone Druid and
Quill Spray can deal damage to both Lone Druid and the Spirit Bear at the same time
Pudge
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 19%)Bristleback
* Bristleback is one of the hardest heroes to gank with a Meat Hook and
Dismember combo, and attempts to do so sometimes backfire on Pudge.
Additional:
* Pudge is particularly susceptible to Bristleback's Viscous Nasal Goo and
Quill Spray due to his naturally low armor & poor agility gain.
* Bristleback, in combination with his strength gain, high health, common itemization for magic resistance and damage reduction from Bristleback makes him a poor target for Pudge.
Rubick
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 17%)Bristleback
* Bristleback's abilities are nearly useless for Rubick to Spell Steal, as he does not gain the bonuses from Warpath.
Additional:
* Rubick deals little damage on his own, so Bristleback can simply shrug off all his spells and chase you down with his spells and attacks.
* Quill Spray requires multiple casts and close range to add up stacks. Because Rubick does not stay in the front lines, it's generally not a good spell for him to steal.
* Viscous Nasal Goo will slow Rubick down even further and reduce his armor, making him vulnerable to Quill Spray and the damage bonus from
Warpath.
Drow Ranger
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 5%)Arc Warden
* Magnetic Field cause attacks from Drow Ranger outside to miss, forcing Drow Ranger to go inside the field, nullifying marksmanship.
Additional:
* Magnetic Field protects Arc Warden and allies from Drow Ranger's ranged attacks. She most likely will not enter the field since she will lose Marksmanship's bonus agility.
* Beware however, as Marksmanship procs will still hit since they have True Strike, so the most damaging arrows will still hit you inside Magnetic Field.
Queen of Pain
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 9%)Arc Warden
* Sonic Wave is a bad choice in abilities if he and the Tempest Double both use
Necronomicon and
Blade Mail to reflect the damage to Queen of Pain, potentially killing her outright if her health is low enough.
* Magnetic Field protects himself or his ally from Queen of Pain's attacks unless she has
Monkey King Bar.
* One more advantage of Tempest Double is that he can deny himself if he is close to death with Shadow Strike's debuff.
Dragon Knight
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 4%)Bristleback
* Viscous Nasal Goo slows down Dragon Knight and lowers armor, locking him down and making him more vulnerable.
Sniper
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 6%)Arc Warden
* Magnetic Field's evasion completely negates Sniper's attacks unless he has True Strike.
* Sniper always positions himself far away from battles, which makes him especially vulnerable for Flux and Spark Wraith.
Gyrocopter
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 2%)Arc Warden
* Magnetic Field evades most of Gyrocopter's attacks.
* Necronomicon can kill Gyrocopter with the summons. In addition, Last Will might activate if the Necronomicon Warrior gets killed through Flak Cannon or Call Down.
Io
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 4%)Bristleback
* Quill Spray is very effective against Io, as it has very low armor and has to stay close to the fight to not break its Tether.
Crystal Maiden
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 14%)Bristleback
* Viscous Nasal Goo can hinder Crystal Maiden's already abysmal mobility, which allows Bristleback (or his teammates) to run her down and kill her.
* Bristleback frequently builds Blade Mail, which can quickly kill Crystal Maiden if her ultimate is used while he is under its effect.
* The passive part of Bristleback will trigger many, many times under the damage from Freezing Field, and as the stacks increase, the damage output from each successive cast (or proc) will eat away at Crystal Maiden's small HP pool.
Oracle
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Bristleback
* Fortune's End cannot dispel Warpath stacks on Bristleback or
Quill Spray stacks on allies.
* Bristleback can heavily reduce Oracle's damage output. With it, Oracle may accidentally heal Bristleback with Purifying Flames, especially if Bristleback has bonus magic resistance.
Jakiro
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 9%)Bristleback
* Macropyre's frequent damage ticks causes Bristleback to activate repeatedly, resulting in free damage as long as Bristleback faces away from Jakiro.
Templar Assassin
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 5%)Arc Warden
* Arc Warden's Flux tears through Refraction charges almost instantly. Should he have a
Tempest Double and no creeps are around, a 75% slow means almost certain death.
* Meld is useless against Spark Wraith.
Additional:
* Flux wastes Templar Assassin's Refraction unless she has a
Black King Bar or a
Manta Style.
* Spark Wraith can be used to bully a Templar Assassin that used Meld.
Dark Willow
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 7%)Bristleback
* Quill Spray's constant AoE damage will hit Dark Willow even in Shadow Realm. Its automatic damage will hurt her if she tries to get close and use Bedlam.
Sand King
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 10%)Bristleback
* Quill Spray will hit Sand King inside Sand Storm, damaging him and putting Sand King's
Blink Dagger on cooldown, preventing him from escaping.
* Epicenter's numerous damage ticks will trigger Bristleback's passive repeatedly during teamfights.
Mirana
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 16%)Arc Warden
* Flux will slow and damage Mirana even after she Leaps, since she will likely not be near allies.
* Arc Warden can place Magnetic Field on an ally who has been hit by Sacred Arrow to protect them.
* As Necronomicon is his core item, Arc Warden can reveal Mirana and her allies hiding in Moonlight Shadow and the Necronomicon Warrior can kill Mirana with Last Will if he is unintentionally killed with Starstorm upgraded by Aghanim's Scepter or Sacred Arrow.
Additional:
* If Arc Warden builds Necronomicon 3 he can reveal Mirana's team while
Moonlight Shadow is active.
* A Starstorm upgraded by
Aghanim's Scepter can accidentally kill a Necronomicon Warrior, which can lead to her death if she hasn't built a
Black King Bar.
* Arc Warden can use his summons to prevent Sacred Arrow from hitting himself or his allies.
* Mirana doesn't build items that give armor often, so she usually can't fight against a late game Arc Warden.
Enigma
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 54% pickrate: 7%)Bristleback
* Bristleback's tankiness can enable him to chase Enigma out of a teamfight, making it difficult to initiate with a Black Hole.
Nature's Prophet
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 7%)Bristleback
* Heroes that have AoE damage: Lina,
Keeper of the Light,
Timbersaw,
Leshrac,
Bristleback,
Axe
Witch Doctor
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 13%)Arc Warden
* Arc Warden's
Magnetic Field dodges all damage from Death Ward. Should he choose to buy a
Necronomicon, they are quite effective to absorb some shots from your cask, and attack you during Death Ward.
Luna
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 4%)Arc Warden
* Luna's Moon Glaives allow her to clear Arc Warden's Tempest Double.
* Luna's short range and fast movement speed allow her to fight Arc Warden inside his Magnetic Field.
Bristleback
* Quill Spray and
Bristleback harass Luna more efficiently than she does with Lucent Beam.
* Bristleback withstands Luna’s nukes, and gives lots of damage in return.
* Viscous Nasal Goo and
Warpath are enough to outrun a speedy Luna.
* Bristleback tends to be a frequent carrier of Crimson Guard, which is good protection from bouncing glaives.
Additional:
* Multiple instances of damage from Eclipse will trigger Bristleback's passive repeatedly in a short time, dealing tremendous damage to Luna and her teammates.
* Luna's damage burst may be high, but it will not be enough for her to take down Bristleback.
Arc Warden
* Heroes that create illusions (such as Spectre,
Shadow Demon,
Phantom Lancer,
Naga Siren,
Chaos Knight,
Terrorblade) or bring other units into the fight (such as
Nature's Prophet,
Lone Druid,
Chen,
Enchantress and the aforementioned
Meepo and
Arc Warden) can cause Eclipse to strike the illusions/summons unintentionally. (However, in many cases Moon Glaives can resolve this issue and eliminate them before activating Eclipse).
Ogre Magi
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 15%)Arc Warden
* Arc Warden's
Tempest Double is helpful for killing Ogre Magi who lacks AoE damage and disables.
Bloodseeker
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 5%)Arc Warden
* Heroes with illusion and clone abilities may confuse Bloodseeker, causing him to waste time in fights: Phantom Lancer,
Chaos Knight,
Arc Warden
Shadow Shaman
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 17%)Arc Warden
* Arc Warden with his Magnetic Field will protect allies from Mass Serpent Ward.
Bounty Hunter
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 54% pickrate: 10%)Bristleback
* Bristleback's
Viscous Nasal Goo can catch and slow Bounty Hunter.
Warpath and
Quill Spray can defeat him quickly due to his small HP pool when compared to Bristleback's.
Meepo
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 1%)Arc Warden
* Arc Warden's Flux is meaningless against Meepo who loves to group up. Meepo is also a very good gap closer, so Arc Warden's Magnetic Field becomes useless.
Additional:
* Flux is severely impaired against Meepo because of Divided We Stand.
* Meepo's farming speed and early powerspikes allows him to pressure Arc Warden before he is capable of fighting effectively.
* Without Black King Bar,
Earthbind and
Poof can finish Arc Warden quickly before he has time to do much.
Bristleback
* Quill Spray usually hits Meepo's clones, although Bristleback cannot turn his back when rooted with Earthbind.
Morphling
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 13%)Arc Warden
* Slark,
Lifestealer,
Morphling and such with a good escape mechanism are a nuisance to deal with in the early-game.
Arc Warden
* Arc Warden can counter Morphling's strong pushing capabilities by using Magnetic Field to protect buildings.
* Arc Warden also often builds an Orchid Malevolence or
Bloodthorn, which can prove dangerous for Morphling.
* Arc Warden can easily break Linken's Sphere with
Flux and then slow him with
Spark Wraith, making Arc Warden's
Tempest Double a legitimate threat as well.
Terrorblade
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 4%)Bristleback
* Terrorblade's
Sunder is not affected by the Bristleback damage reduction.
Arc Warden
* Arc Warden’s Magnetic Field allows him to defend against Terrorblade if he used Metamorphosis.
* Arc also buys a Bloodthorn or a
Scythe of Vyse, which can prevent Terrorblade from using his abilities.
Phoenix
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Bristleback
* Heroes with high health especially Strength heroes will take more damage on Sun Ray: Axe,
Pudge,
Bristleback,
Mars.
Arc Warden
* His Tempest Double is not an illusion, but rather a full hero unit, which effectively reduces half of the Supernova's health. His
Magnetic Field can tremendously boost his attack speed, allowing him to destroy Supernova in no time even when he's affected by
Fire Spirits.
Additional:
* Tempest Double, Magnetic Field's attack speed bonus, and Arc Warden's high attack range will easily destroy a Phoenix using Supernova much faster than usual.
* Phoenix is very weak against pushers, especially those like Arc Warden who can kill him easily, as his skillset works best in teamfights.
Axe
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 9%)Arc Warden
* Heroes who rely on fast attack speed will also trigger Counter Helix frequently: Faceless Void,
Troll Warlord,
Anti-Mage,
Juggernaut,
Arc Warden,
Morphling
Additional:
* Magnetic Field doesn't provide a protection against Berserker's Call and
Counter Helix and his high attack speed together with Tempest Double will often trigger Counter Helix.
Bristleback
* Axe forces Bristleback to turn around with
Berserker's Call, allowing allies to attack him without fear of his passive.
Arc Warden
* Heroes who can slow and kite Axe will severely inhibit his presence in fights: Bristleback,
Crystal Maiden,
Batrider,
Arc Warden,
Winter Wyvern,
Clockwerk
Bristleback
* Heroes who can slow and kite Axe will severely inhibit his presence in fights: Bristleback,
Crystal Maiden,

Arc Warden,
Winter Wyvern,
Clockwerk
Lifestealer
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 5%)Arc Warden
* Slark,
Lifestealer,
Morphling and such with a good escape mechanism are a nuisance to deal with in the early-game.
Bristleback
* Heroes with high physical damage can damage Lifestealer more than he can heal: Bristleback,
Clinkz,
Luna,
Shadow Fiend,
Slardar
Riki
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 13%)Arc Warden
* Smoke Screen prevents Arc Warden from initiating or helping his team, as he struggles to escape the silence with low mobility.
* With Arc Warden's low mobility, Tricks of the Trade is wide enough to deal decent damage to him.
Bristleback
* The bonus Backstab damage from Cloak and Dagger is rendered irrelevant with Bristleback and hurts Riki more than him because of the passive Quill Spray.
* Riki still gets damaged by Bristleback's Quill Spray while invisible, and it can be hard to deal with in lane.
* Bristleback is not too bothered by Smoke Screen. Though he cannot use Quill Spray manually inside it, it still procs passively when he takes damage from the back. The movement speed from Warpath allows him to get out of the area easily.
* Due to Bristleback's natural tankiness, he is an ideal Gem of True Sight carrier.
* Riki rarely buys Silver Edge to break Bristleback's passive because the invisibility aspect of it is redundant.
Additional:
* Quill Spray will hit Riki even when he is invisible.
* Cloak and Dagger's bonus backstab damage is rendered irrelevant against Bristleback.
* Smoke Screen does not stop Bristleback's passive from activating.
* Due to Bristleback's natural tankiness, he is an ideal Gem of True Sight carrier, directly countering Riki's invisibility.
Phantom Lancer
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Arc Warden
* Flux is paused if even one illusion remains near Phantom Lancer. It can also be dispelled with Doppelganger.
* Phantom Lancer can also easily dodge an activated Spark Wraith, or use his illusions to trigger it safely.
* Phantom Rush allows Lancer to quickly get inside of Arc Warden's Magnetic Field.
* Phantom Lancer and his clones are able to quickly drain Arc Warden of his mana with a Diffusal Blade. This means Warden's
Tempest Double will also be summoned without mana.
Additional:
* Doppelganger dispels Flux.
* Phantom Rush closes the distance between Phantom Lancer and Arc Warden.
* Juxtapose overwhelms Arc Warden and nullifies his kit which is only effective against isolated opponents.
Bristleback
* Bristleback's tankiness and damage reduction from the rear makes him very hard for Phantom Lancer to chase and finish off, due to his lack of burst damage.
* Quill Spray destroys Phantom Lancer's illusions.
* Bristleback's passive costs no mana, meaning that it will continue to trigger even if Phantom Lancer drains Bristleback's mana with
Diffusal Blade.
Additional:
* Quill Spray cleans up Phantom Lancer's illusions in no time.
* Phantom Lancer's complete lack of burst damage makes it nearly impossible for him to kill Bristleback during chases.
Chaos Knight
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 3%)Arc Warden
* Chaos Knight can dispel Flux with Phantasm.
* Chaos Knight can use Reality Rift to pull Arc Warden out of Magnetic Field.
* Once Chaos Knight jumps on Arc Warden with Reality Rift, Arc Warden struggles to escape due to low mobility.
Bristleback
* Quill Spray quickly destroys Chaos Knight's Phantasms.
Lycan
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 55% pickrate: 4%)Arc Warden
* Magnetic Field is useless against melee heroes, so Lycan can attack Arc Warden without missing.
* Flux doesn't affect Lycan that much, because Shapeshift grants immunity to slows and because he is never alone.
* If their Tempest Double has been called, Lycan can still kill Arc Warden before the double expires.
Bristleback
* Lycan's wolves deal little damage to Bristleback, and are easily killed by Quill Spray, even when they're invisible.
* Lycan's lack of burst damage makes it very hard for him to kill Bristleback, especially when his back is turned.
Additional:
* Quill Spray can be used to kill Lycan's summons.
* Bristleback allows him to stay alive against Lycan while dishing out counter attacks
* He can overpower Lycan with his Warpath instead.
Broodmother
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 56% pickrate: 2%)Arc Warden
* None of Arc Warden's skills work against Broodmother and her Spiderlings.
* Arc Warden is forced to go any lane other than mid, which he doesn't want to do, because on the lane against Broodmother he'll die over and over again.
* Broodmother is a hero best known for ending the game very early, and Arc Warden needs a couple of items to be effective.
* Arc Warden has no disables to stop Broodmother from lifestealing with Insatiable Hunger and shredding through Zet's low armor.
Bristleback
* Quill Spray destroys spiderlings, and hits Broodmother even when she's regenerating in her webs. This makes Bristleback one of her hardest counters in lane.
Additional:
* Bristleback reduces most of Broodmother's and her spiderlings' damage.
* Quill Spray will hit any spiders in its proximity, hindering Broodmother's fighting and farming capabilities.

About
This website was made to help you in pick stage of online game Dota 2. It calculates rating for each possible counterpicks based on tips from web-based database made up entirely of user contributions Dota 2 wiki.
You will get the list of recommended hero counters with a list of tips written by Dota 2 wiki contributors explaining why it's good against the particular hero. In comparison to other similar websites, which show only rating based on average hero winrate from dotabuff or similar service.
How to interpret this data
Take it with a bit of grain of salt, especially if the recommendation has a low rating (<= 1), some heroes
may win a lane in an early game but would lose in late game (and vice versa). That's why sometimes
you could hero names appearing as a counter and as being countered, as on image:
You can also add your own tips, update old data and fix mistakes by editing page on Dota 2 Wiki (it works like Wikipedia - anyone can contribute, you don't even need to register) these edits will appear on this website automatically (data is updated several times per week).
Right now there is no app/overlay that will detect picks automatically (like overwolf dota plus or become the gamer), instead, you can open web version in a steam in-game browser or use mobile version on your smartphone.

Mana Break. Coupled with the fact, that
Magnetic Field doesn't work against melee gap-closing heroes and Zet's low armor, Anti-Mage will almost always be able to kill Arc Warden in one-on-one situation.
Blink mitigates the threat of Flux slow and allows Anti-Mage to close the distance between himself and Arc Warden.
Counterspell significantly reduces the effectiveness of Arc Warden's magic damage.

Additional:
* Arc Warden's high reliance on casting spells leads him to be dependent on mana, which Anti-Mage can easily burn with
*
* Anti-Mage's ability to farm quickly allows him keep up with Arc Warden's farm while also de-pushing the lanes Arc Warden shoves in with Tempest Double. When Tempest Double clone meets Anti-Mage, the former will be killed very quickly, giving Anti-Mage even more farm.
