* Due to Reincarnation and his general tankiness he can live through at least one major Remote Mines stack or Blast Off!.

Additional:
* Wraith King is not afraid to walk into mines, whenever he goes with his Reincarnation ready.
Abaddon
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 3%)Techies
* Borrowed Time's automatic activation will help Abaddon survive a massive Remote Mines explosion; however, the damage from a single one can kill him if his HP is low enough.
Additional:
* Aphotic Shield makes it less likely for allies to be killed by mines.
* Because they explode in very short intervals, a stack of Remote Mines will always trigger Borrowed Time, making them impossible to kill Abaddon unless his resistances are lowered enough or Abaddon is affected by Break.
* Abaddon can easily dispel the long-lasting root of Stasis Trap on himself and on an ally, while at the same also providing protection against the other mines' damage.

* Possibly Clinkz's worst enemy. He has many tools to utterly destroy Clinkz.
* Charge of Darkness can be used on Clinkz if Spirit Breaker's team spots him anywhere. This charge will track his location through Skeleton Walk's invisibility and movement speed bonuses.
* When Spirit Breaker charges onto Clinkz, he can easily use Dust of Appearance to guarantee a reveal on him while stunned.
* All three of Spirit Breaker's spells help him and his team quickly close the gap to Clinkz even at the edge of his attack range or when running away with Skeleton Walk.
* Spirit Breaker's high strength and above average armor makes him able to endure Clinkz's onslaught, meanwhile Clinkz will be heavily threatened if Spirit Breaker procs a Greater Bash.

* As long as Batrider is under the effects of Firefly, he can safely fly over mines.

Additional:
* Anti-Mage's Counterspell provides no protection against Clinkz's physical damage output.

Blinking, although Anti-Mage can easily dispel it via
Manta Style.
* Clinkz does heavy damage to towers, and can take map control away from Anti-Mage to limit the space he has to farm early game. If Clinkz is ahead he is capable of ending the game before Anti-Mage becomes a threat. He can also match Anti-Mage's ability to split push.

[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Techies
* Since Techies' skills are all magical damage, casting Fate's Edict immediately upon hearing the warning sound from Proximity Mines and
Blast Off! can render Oracle or an ally immune to the burst damage from these skills.
* If timed correctly, Remote Mines can also be countered using the same technique.
Additional:
* Fate's Edict gives 100% magic resistance, which prevents most of Techies' damage and his

[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 7%)Techies

* Clinkz can match Nature's Prophet's ability to split push.
Tinker
[wiki] rating: 0.2 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 7%)Techies
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,

Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Clinkz
* Heroes with high armor like Dragon Knight, or with abilities to cause attacks to miss like
Phantom Assassin,
Riki and
Tinker will be hard to deal with, as Clinkz relies almost entirely on physical attacks.
Techies
* A common playstyle among Tinkers is to teleport to a lane creep using Boots of Travel and immediately blink into the trees to cast
March of the Machines. If Techies can predict where said Tinker would blink after teleporting, he could place strategic Proximity Mines or even Remote Mines in those places. Stasis Traps also prevent Tinker from blinking or teleporting away.
Ember Spirit
[wiki] rating: -2.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 9%)Clinkz
* Ember Spirit's Flame Guard provides no protection against Clinkz's physical damage output.
* Ember Spirit's low armor and health make him easy to kill quickly if a teammate can hold him down.
* If Clinkz has farmed an item that can disable, he can sneak up to and hunt down Ember Spirit while he farms or split pushes alone.
Techies
* Ember Spirit relies on his Fire Remnant to keep a steady push and then retreat to a safe distance. Keeping two or three patches of Remote Mines on a lane will severely impair him from pushing that lane without risking his life.
Hoodwink
[wiki] rating: -2.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 16%)Techies
* remote mines are frequently placed in trees, and can thus kill an unwary Hoodwink should she
Scurry away due to her low HP pool.
* Blast Off! can clear out trees, denying the tactical advantages from Scurry.

* Clinkz's high damage output and insane attack speed late-game can take Kunkka out of the fight before it begins.
* Strafe and
Searing Arrows together can kill allies easily even under Ghostship's buff.
* Skeleton Walk can allow Clinkz to make a quick escape after Kunkka's combo, or even avoid it all together.
Rubick
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 17%)Clinkz
* Considering Rubick's abysmal armor, Rubick is a squishy target for Clinkz to gank. None of his spells are useful except for Skeleton Walk.
* Clinkz usually builds Orchid Malevolence, which disables Rubick's ability to retaliate.
* Vast numbers of Sentry Wards are needed to deal with Clinkz because of
Skeleton Walk, making it harder for Rubick to buy more expensive and more useful support items like
Glimmer Cape or
Mekansm.
Storm Spirit
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 11%)Techies
* If Storm Spirit isn't careful, he could fall into a trap set by Techies and another hero acting as bait.

* Stasis Trap's root prevents Earth Spirit from using Rolling Boulder to escape.
Meepo
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 1%)Techies
* Due to the nature of Divided We Stand and the playstyle of splitting up multiple Meepos across the map, Techies can limit Meepo's movement with mines forcing the Meepo player to either keep all Meepos together or be extra careful when moving each individual Meepo because clones cannot carry any True Sight-providing item.
* However, if a mine blast isn't enough to kill a Meepo, he can Poof to safety of another Meepo.
Additional:
* Stasis Trap can lock multiple Meepos in place and prevent them from Poofing.
* Proximity Mines,
Remote Mines and
Blast Off! can deal heavy magic damage to multiple Meepos.

* Searing Arrows makes Clinkz one of the hardest heroes for Clockwerk to lane against.

[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 4%)Techies
* Luna has low HP, low range and often stalks through jungle. She cannot properly disarm Proximity Mines and could fall victim to their traps.
* Of course, if Luna happens to catch Techies off-guard, they won't be able to survive for long against Eclipse, Lucent Beam, and right-clicks.
Huskar
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 2%)Clinkz
* Huskar's Berserker's Blood provides no protection against Clinkz's physical damage output.
* Huskar has no way to disrupt Clinkz's attacks and no way to kill Clinkz alone, as Clinkz can easily go invisible, teleport away, or even fight back.
* Clinkz will often build the items that counter Huskar and the items he usually builds. These include Black King Bar or
Monkey King Bar for
Heaven's Halberd, or a disable item like
Scythe of Vyse or
Bloodthorn to prevent him from using
Inner Fire to disarm.
Monkey King
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 17%)Techies
* Proximity Mines and
Stasis Traps can be placed near trees to detect Monkey King.
* Follow up with Blast Off! to destroy the tree, causing Monkey King to take high damage, fall from the tree, and become stunned.
Additional:
* Techies can turn his tree jumping ability against him, by placing Proximity Mines/Stasis Traps that will detect him near trees, and then destroying the trees around him with Blast Off!, stunning him and dealing high damage, on top of him being silenced when the stun expires.
* Monkey King's mobility is also severely limited around Techies' mines as he will almost always trigger them due to the cooldown time between tree jumps. Monkey King will be forced to take mine damage or escape with Primal Spring.
Tiny
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 6%)Clinkz

Keeper of the Light.
Phoenix
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 10%)Clinkz

Troll Warlord,
Beastmaster,
Lina.

* Heroes who can harass Omniknight out of lane will keep him weak in the mid game: Viper,
Venomancer,
Clinkz
Underlord
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 9%)Techies
* In general, heroes that provide vision will see Dark Rift coming: Techies,
Templar Assassin,
Treant Protector
Ancient Apparition
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 9%)Clinkz
* Ancient Apparition has no escape or reliable control and is very fragile, which makes him an easy target for anyone who can get on top of him, like Phantom Assassin or
Clinkz.
Alchemist
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 5%)Clinkz
* Clinkz can use
Burning Army in teamfights which will cause a problem for Alchemist.

* Techies is very good against roaming supports and gankers such as Bounty Hunter,
Riki,
Weaver,
Earthshaker,

Enigma
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 55% pickrate: 6%)Techies
* Heroes with summons like Broodmother,
Enigma,
Invoker,
Nature's Prophet,
Lycan,
Visage;or illusions, like
Naga Siren,
Phantom Lancer,
Terrorblade are effective at keeping the choke points and rune spawns safe from Proximity mines in the early game.
Clinkz
* Despite Clinkz's fragility, his harassment in the early game can be devastating; as he can kite Enigma and his Eidolons and claim their bounty.
Chen
[wiki] rating: -0.2 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 0%)Techies
* His creeps can trigger Proximity Mines and
Stasis Trap, wasting them.
Additional:
* Holy Persuasion creeps can be used to clear mines.
* If Chen has an Aghanim's Scepter he can send his Ancient creeps to defuse visible Remote Mines with little risk of giving up their bounties because their magic resistance is extremely high.
* Due to their high magic resistance, siege creeps are the best possible creep to persuade for scouting and killing mines.
Techies
* Heroes with damage burst can often kill Chen or his allies before he can use Hand of God: Lina,
Techies,
Shadow Fiend,
Pugna,
Nyx Assassin.
Clinkz
* Heroes that can instantly kill creeps greatly reduce the effectiveness of Chen's converted army: Lifestealer,
Doom,
Mirana,
Clinkz.
Keeper of the Light
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 6%)Techies
* Heroes with flying vision such as Visage,

Clinkz
* Heroes that can jump and kill him: Meepo,
Clinkz,
Templar Assassin
Phantom Assassin
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 15%)Clinkz
* Assuming they have not bought anti-evasion items, attack dependent heroes such as Viper,
Ursa or
Clinkz can be a minor threat for Phantom Assassin early in the game, and may even be completely dominated by her thanks to her evasion.
Clinkz
* With Bloodthorn, Clinkz becomes a strong counter to heroes who rely on evasion and blind such as
Windranger,
Phantom Assassin,
Troll Warlord and
Keeper of the Light.
Pudge
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 19%)Techies
* Techies struggles early game against heroes with naturally large strength and health regeneration such as Pudge,
Axe or
Ogre Magi, as the player is forced to lay down more mines than usual to kill these bulkier heroes.
Additional:
* Pudge is the perfect hero for tanking mines, as Flesh Heap grants him lots of strength.
* Techies' high ground defense can be bypassed by Pudge hooking his enemies to him.
* Techies usually sits in the trees during the laning stage, setting up Proximity Mines. Meat Hook can easily pull them out and set them up for a kill.
Clinkz
* Heroes with a high degree of mobility and invisibility are hard to catch with Meat Hook: Ember Spirit,
Riki,
Clinkz,
Queen of Pain.
Morphling
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 12%)Clinkz
* By using Morph, Morphling can use Death Pact and Searing Arrows to counter Clinkz himself.
* Waveform can allow Morphling to easily chase down Clinkz.
* Clinkz's low health pool also makes him vulnerable to Morphling's magical nukes, especially his Ethereal Blade and
Adaptive Strike combo.
Techies
* Morphling usually has low max health due to shifting strength into agility, making him an easy target to blow up.
Lifestealer
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 5%)Techies
* Lifestealer's Rage lets him clear Remote Mines and Proximity Mines with proper vision.
Additional:
* Rage protects Lifestealer from all of Techies' magic damage and disables and dispels Stasis Trap's debuff .
* Usually teams will have a hard time pushing high-ground against Techies, but Lifestealer can just pop Rage and walk uphill without fear of Techies.
Clinkz
* Clinkz relies heavily on the physical damage provided by Searing Arrows, which completely overrides the capabilities of Rage.
* Open Wounds is near worthless against Clinkz as he can instantly run away with Skeleton Walk before returning later on.
* Clinkz, by nature will often build items that Lifestealer hates dealing with such as physical damage items like Desolator or
Daedalus and instant silences or hexes from
Bloodthorn and
Scythe of Vyse.
Crystal Maiden
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 14%)Clinkz
* Frostbite will reveal invisible heroes for its duration, making it a good tool against any such hero (Riki,
Bounty Hunter,
Weaver, or
Clinkz for example), or as a soft counter to
Shadow Blade, if it is used first. This can be an amazing tool to ensure that
Dust of Appearance is used on the unit in question, and not wasted in not catching anything.
Clinkz
* Heroes who can easily harass Crystal Maiden out of lane in the early game (Clinkz,
Viper) can prevent Crystal Maiden from being able to level effectively, and can ultimately slow down her level 6, 12, and 18 to a point where enemy carries already have items to address her ultimate.
Bloodseeker
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 4%)Clinkz
* Skeleton Walk is not enough to outrun Bloodseeker, and is detected by Thirst.
Additional:
* Thirst reveals Clinkz if he tries to escape with Skeleton Walk with low health. It also allows Bloodseeker to match or exceed Clinkz's speed.
* Rupture negates the mobility provided by Skeleton Walk in any attempt to escape or reposition in fights.
* Bloodseeker can easily build items to counter Clinkz, including Talisman of Evasion upgrades,
Blade Mail, and armor items.
Techies
* Well planted Proximity Mines can lure Bloodseeker to his death during ganking attempts.
Bounty Hunter
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 9%)Clinkz
* Invisibility reliant heroes: Heroes with invisibility abilities or those that have invested into invisibility items are hindered by Bounty Hunter's Track. Few examples of such heroes are:Clinkz,
Riki,
Treant Protector, etc.
Additional:
* Track reveals Clinkz if he tries to escape with Skeleton Walk, allowing Bounty Hunter to gain lots of gold if he kills Clinkz.
* Jinada with physical damage items can quickly kill Clinkz due to his low health.
Techies
* Techies is very good against roaming supports and gankers such as Bounty Hunter,
Riki,
Weaver,
Earthshaker,
Nyx Assassin, etc. that are constantly moving around the map.

About
This website was made to help you in pick stage of online game Dota 2. It calculates rating for each possible counterpicks based on tips from web-based database made up entirely of user contributions Dota 2 wiki.
You will get the list of recommended hero counters with a list of tips written by Dota 2 wiki contributors explaining why it's good against the particular hero. In comparison to other similar websites, which show only rating based on average hero winrate from dotabuff or similar service.
How to interpret this data
Take it with a bit of grain of salt, especially if the recommendation has a low rating (<= 1), some heroes
may win a lane in an early game but would lose in late game (and vice versa). That's why sometimes
you could hero names appearing as a counter and as being countered, as on image:
You can also add your own tips, update old data and fix mistakes by editing page on Dota 2 Wiki (it works like Wikipedia - anyone can contribute, you don't even need to register) these edits will appear on this website automatically (data is updated several times per week).
Right now there is no app/overlay that will detect picks automatically (like overwolf dota plus or become the gamer), instead, you can open web version in a steam in-game browser or use mobile version on your smartphone.

Techies
* With
Dark Ascension Night Stalker gains unobstructed vision during night-time allowing him to easily detect mines if he has a
Gem of True Sight, but Night Stalker is a melee hero so he has to use
Quelling Blade to safely defuse Remote Mines and Stasis Trap.
Dark Ascension also allows Night Stalker to fly over Proximity Mines without triggering them.
Crippling Fear is effective in stopping Techies from using Blast Off! and
Void is effective in stopping them from running to the safety of their mines.
*
*
Clinkz
* The long silence at night prevents Clinkz from escaping with invisibility if Night Stalker can sneak up on him. He also has really low base health, so Night Stalker can usually kill him alone during one cast of Crippling Fear at night.
