* Shapeshift also makes him immune to slows like Drow Ranger's Frost Arrows.

* Faceless Void could lock down Drow Ranger with Chronosphere before she has the chance to retaliate due to her low health pool.
Techies

* Magnetic Field protects Arc Warden and allies from Drow Ranger's ranged attacks. She most likely will not enter the field since she will lose Marksmanship's bonus agility.
* Beware however, as Marksmanship procs will still hit since they have True Strike, so the most damaging arrows will still hit you inside Magnetic Field.

[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 5%)Techies

Additional:
* Aphotic Shield makes it less likely for allies to be killed by mines.
* Because they explode in very short intervals, a stack of Remote Mines will always trigger Borrowed Time, making them impossible to kill Abaddon unless his resistances are lowered enough or Abaddon is affected by Break.
* Abaddon can easily dispel the long-lasting root of Stasis Trap on himself and on an ally, while at the same also providing protection against the other mines' damage.

* Mirana can dodge Gust with good reaction time, or Leap away if Drow tries to slow her without Gust.
Techies
* Techies spends lots of time standing still planting stacks of Land Mines away from creep waves.
* Sacred Arrow can be used to scout hidden Land Mines among trees and at uphill places. It can also be used to catch Techies while he's planting them.

* Mirana has a high attack range to destroy his traps from a safe distance.
Drow Ranger
* Gust prevents Mirana from escaping away from Leap and
Moonlight Shadow before she builds defensive items.
* On the other hand, Mirana can Leap or close the gap with Moonlight Shadow to disable Drow Ranger's Marksmanship bonus.

Additional:
* Wraith King is not afraid to walk into mines, whenever he goes with his Reincarnation ready.
Oracle
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 10%)Techies

Additional:
* Fate's Edict gives 100% magic resistance, which prevents most of Techies' damage and his

Assassinate makes it easier for Sniper's team to track and take her down

* Somewhat like Medusa, Drow Ranger is a fairly immobile hero that hopes to be able to attack without dying. Sniper should outrange her.
* Shrapnel and Assassinate provides vision over her, and slows her down, making it easier for you team to focus on taking her down
* Be careful however that if she starts attacking you, she packs a bigger punch than you thanks to Marksmanship.

[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 1%)Techies
* As long as Batrider is under the effects of Firefly, he can safely fly over mines.
* Sticky Napalm also punishes low mobility heroes that like to kite, such as Techies, by lowering their turn rate dramatically. This can also potentially delay Techies' Blast Off! if Techies tries to cast Blast Off! in a direction he's not currently facing.
Additional:
* As long as Batrider is under the effect of Firefly, he can safely fly over Proximity Miness (He does not receive vision over the mines).
Spectre

* Spectre can easily close the distance on Drow Ranger with Haunt and stick on her with

Techies
* A common playstyle among Tinkers is to teleport to a lane creep using Boots of Travel and immediately blink into the trees to cast
March of the Machines. If Techies can predict where said Tinker would blink after teleporting, he could place strategic Proximity Mines or even Remote Mines in those places. Stasis Traps also prevent Tinker from blinking or teleporting away.

Warlock
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 4%)Drow Ranger
* While heroes with strong mobility able to get close/flee or long range disables do well against him, heroes with no escaping abilities/lacking long disables will perish against Warlock. Once the {U:Warlock Golem} lands with its stun, its hardly possible to escape when he casts Upheaval. Just watch your pet burn the enemies as they try running away or blow their strongest abilities to stop your {U:Warlock Golem}. Notable examples:
Huskar,

Lion,
Elder Titan, etc.

Techies
* Techies is very good against roaming supports and gankers such as Bounty Hunter,
Riki,
Weaver,
Earthshaker,
Nyx Assassin, etc. that are constantly moving around the map.

* His creeps can trigger Proximity Mines and
Stasis Trap, wasting them.
Additional:
* Holy Persuasion creeps can be used to clear mines.

Zeus
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 8%)Techies
* Due to the fact that Lightning Bolt gives True Sight, Zeus is able to reveal where Techies' remote mines are. He can also cancel Blast Off! due to the mini-stun on the Lightning Bolt.
Drow Ranger
* As a spellcaster, silences will nullify him entirely. Some notable examples are Death Prophet,
Drow Ranger,
Bloodseeker,
Disruptor and many others.
* Doom, as usual, fits this description nicely.
Terrorblade
[wiki] rating: 0.2 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 4%)Drow Ranger
* Heroes with high base damage (Morphling,

* Terrorblade can push without the fear of dying to mines; he can instead use his illusions to push.
Drow Ranger
* Marksmanship allows Drow Ranger to pierce Terrorblade's high natural base armor. Since Terrorblade doesn't like to buy armor items like
Assault Cuirass, that makes him very vulnerable to Drow.
Ember Spirit
[wiki] rating: -2.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 9%)Drow Ranger
* Ember Spirit greatly relies on his spells to engage in battle. Drow Ranger can simply silence him with Gust and make him useless for a few seconds, which Ember Spirit cannot afford during a teamfight.
Techies
* Ember Spirit relies on his Fire Remnant to keep a steady push and then retreat to a safe distance. Keeping two or three patches of Remote Mines on a lane will severely impair him from pushing that lane without risking his life.
Monkey King
[wiki] rating: -2.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 16%)Techies
* Proximity Mines and
Stasis Traps can be placed near trees to detect Monkey King.
* Follow up with Blast Off! to destroy the tree, causing Monkey King to take high damage, fall from the tree, and become stunned.
Additional:
* Techies can turn his tree jumping ability against him, by placing Proximity Mines/Stasis Traps that will detect him near trees, and then destroying the trees around him with Blast Off!, stunning him and dealing high damage, on top of him being silenced when the stun expires.
* Monkey King's mobility is also severely limited around Techies' mines as he will almost always trigger them due to the cooldown time between tree jumps. Monkey King will be forced to take mine damage or escape with Primal Spring.
Drow Ranger
* A well timed Gust will push Monkey King off a tree while also silencing him.
* A well placed Multishot will hit Monkey King in the trees, perhaps making it possible to finish a kill after he jumps into the trees.
* Marksmanship procs ignore the extra armor granted by
Wukong's Command, and with a
Dragon Lance, Drow can usually hit Monkey King without entering the field of clones, even disregarding any
Black King Bar he may have bought.
* A well placed Gust can push Monkey King out of
Wukong's Command, ending it prematurely.
Additional:
* A well timed Gust will push Monkey King off a tree while also silencing him.
* A well placed Multishot will hit Monkey King in the trees, perhaps making it possible to finish a kill after he jumps into the trees.

Clockwerk,
Drow Ranger,
Abaddon,
Faceless Void,
Weaver,
Outworld Destroyer.
Doom
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 44% pickrate: 2%)Drow Ranger
* Drow Ranger can be difficult to get on top of, thanks to her Frost Arrows and
Gust. With these two abilities, Drow Ranger is able to effectively 'kite' Doom and minimize his impact during team fights and laning stage.
* Much of Drow Ranger's effectiveness comes from her passive, which is not disabled by Doom.
Meepo
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 1%)Techies
* Due to the nature of Divided We Stand and the playstyle of splitting up multiple Meepos across the map, Techies can limit Meepo's movement with mines forcing the Meepo player to either keep all Meepos together or be extra careful when moving each individual Meepo because clones cannot carry any True Sight-providing item.
* However, if a mine blast isn't enough to kill a Meepo, he can Poof to safety of another Meepo.
Additional:
* Stasis Trap can lock multiple Meepos in place and prevent them from Poofing.
* Proximity Mines,
Remote Mines and
Blast Off! can deal heavy magic damage to multiple Meepos.
Rubick
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 16%)Drow Ranger
* A well-timed Gust will prevent Rubick from casting abilities from Spell Steal, and his lack of capabilities and low health pool usually dies very quickly.
* Drow Ranger can dispel Fade Bolt's reduction debuff with
Manta Style.
Dragon Knight
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 4%)Drow Ranger
* Dragon Knight has no built in disengage from Frost Arrows, and
Marksmanship procs ignore base armor, bypassing Dragon Knight’s tankiness for the most part, making Drow one of the few heroes that can deal enough sustained damage to solo kill Dragon Knight.
* With Aghanim's Shard, Frost Arrows also apply hypothermia stacks, reducing her target’s regen, which is especially potent against tanks like Dragon Knight. (A similar effect can also be achieved with an
Eye of Skadi)
Additional:

* Stasis Trap's root prevents Earth Spirit from using Rolling Boulder to escape.
Storm Spirit
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 12%)Techies
* If Storm Spirit isn't careful, he could fall into a trap set by Techies and another hero acting as bait.
* Stasis Trap roots Storm Spirit for 2/3/4/5 seconds, which could be the end of Storm Spirit since he can't use Ball Lightning to escape.
Bloodseeker
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 4%)Techies
* Well planted Proximity Mines can lure Bloodseeker to his death during ganking attempts.
Hoodwink
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 15%)Techies
* remote mines are frequently placed in trees, and can thus kill an unwary Hoodwink should she
Scurry away due to her low HP pool.
* Blast Off! can clear out trees, denying the tactical advantages from Scurry.
Dark Willow
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 7%)Drow Ranger
* Gust can hit Dark Willow beyond a defensive Bramble Maze, and before she gets close enough to hit Drow Ranger with Bedlam.
* Drow Ranger's long range allows her to hit Dark Willow's team without venturing into her Bramble Maze.
Tiny
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 5%)Drow Ranger
* Long ranged heroes like Sniper or
Drow Ranger can kite Tiny effectively if he doesn't get the jump on them first.
Medusa
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 2%)Drow Ranger
* Heroes that build Diffusal Blade or can fit it well into their item build will also make Medusa much less tanky:
Riki,

Morphling
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 12%)Drow Ranger
* Morphling can use Waveform to close the gap between him and Drow Ranger, but should be careful of Gust and
Frost Arrows.
* Morphling is a natural Manta Style carrier, which dispels the silence from Gust.
Techies
* Morphling usually has low max health due to shifting strength into agility, making him an easy target to blow up.
Anti-Mage
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 13%)Techies
* Thanks to Counterspell Anti-Mage can fight Techies head on and trip multiple mines once the late game hits.
Drow Ranger
* None of Anti-Mage's skills are that effective against Drow Ranger. Gust prevents him from Blinking in or out,
Counterspell is totally useless against Drow's physical damage, and as she usually doesn't have a high mana pool,
Mana Break and
Mana Void don't do much either.
* If Anti-Mage is going for Heart of Tarrasque and
Black King Bar, heroes that do heavy damage-per-second are needed.
* Be careful however that Anti-Mage may eventually farm enough to Blink on top of you and kill you straight away, considering you have no natural tools to escape from him.

About
This website was made to help you in pick stage of online game Dota 2. It calculates rating for each possible counterpicks based on tips from web-based database made up entirely of user contributions Dota 2 wiki.
You will get the list of recommended hero counters with a list of tips written by Dota 2 wiki contributors explaining why it's good against the particular hero. In comparison to other similar websites, which show only rating based on average hero winrate from dotabuff or similar service.
How to interpret this data
Take it with a bit of grain of salt, especially if the recommendation has a low rating (<= 1), some heroes
may win a lane in an early game but would lose in late game (and vice versa). That's why sometimes
you could hero names appearing as a counter and as being countered, as on image:
You can also add your own tips, update old data and fix mistakes by editing page on Dota 2 Wiki (it works like Wikipedia - anyone can contribute, you don't even need to register) these edits will appear on this website automatically (data is updated several times per week).
Right now there is no app/overlay that will detect picks automatically (like overwolf dota plus or become the gamer), instead, you can open web version in a steam in-game browser or use mobile version on your smartphone.
