Zeus
[wiki] rating: 2.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 11%)Naga Siren
[wiki] rating: 1.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 2%)Techies
* Heroes with summons like Broodmother,
Enigma,
Invoker,
Nature's Prophet,
Lycan,
Visage;or illusions, like
Naga Siren,
Phantom Lancer,
Terrorblade are effective at keeping the choke points and rune spawns safe from Proximity mines in the early game.
Winter Wyvern
* Song of the Siren can be used to nullify the effects of Winter's Curse, and when upgraded with Aghanim's Scepter it also outmatches the heal of Cold Embrace.
* If Winter Wyvern is reckless enough to put an ally in Cold Embrace, Naga Siren will be able to use her Ensnare to extend the disable on the hero affected by Cold Embrace.
Invoker
[wiki] rating: 1.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 18%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace is the perfect setup for all his nukes - Chaos Meteor,
EMP and especially global
Sun Strike.
Techies
* Heroes with summons like Broodmother,
Enigma,
Invoker,
Nature's Prophet,
Lycan,
Visage;or illusions, like
Naga Siren,

Terrorblade are effective at keeping the choke points and rune spawns safe from Proximity mines in the early game.
Skywrath Mage
[wiki] rating: 1.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 6%)Techies
* In general, heroes such as Lion,
Silencer,
Skywrath Mage,
Sven,
Ogre Magi and others with reliable disables are crucial to killing Techies before they can suicide.
Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace is a perfect setup for Mystic Flare.
* Winter Wyvern is a spellcaster, and the 6 second silence from Ancient Seal can prevent her from contributing much.
* Because Skywrath Mage tends to stay back in fights, Winter Wyvern will have to get close to a teamfight to cast Winter's Curse on him. However, if she chooses to cast it on one of his allies, his low attack speed and damage means that he won't do much.
Additional:
* Cold Embrace is the perfect setup for Mystic Flare, and his 6-second silence is good against Winter Wyvern in general.
Night Stalker
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 5%)Techies
* With Dark Ascension Night Stalker gains unobstructed vision during night-time allowing him to easily detect mines if he has a
Gem of True Sight, but Night Stalker is a melee hero so he has to use
Quelling Blade to safely defuse Remote Mines and Stasis Trap.
* Dark Ascension also allows Night Stalker to fly over Proximity Mines without triggering them.
* Crippling Fear is effective in stopping Techies from using Blast Off! and
Void is effective in stopping them from running to the safety of their mines.
Abaddon
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 3%)Techies
* Borrowed Time's automatic activation will help Abaddon survive a massive Remote Mines explosion; however, the damage from a single one can kill him if his HP is low enough.
Additional:
* Aphotic Shield makes it less likely for allies to be killed by mines.
* Because they explode in very short intervals, a stack of Remote Mines will always trigger Borrowed Time, making them impossible to kill Abaddon unless his resistances are lowered enough or Abaddon is affected by Break.
* Abaddon can easily dispel the long-lasting root of Stasis Trap on himself and on an ally, while at the same also providing protection against the other mines' damage.
Ancient Apparition
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 8%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace makes its target immovable, allowing Ancient Apparition to easily land Ice Blast, or a Cold Feet stun
* Ice Blast also negates healing from Cold Embrace
Additional:
* Ice Blast disables the healing component of Cold Embrace, making it essentially a 4 second stun on an ally and a perfect setup for Ice Blast.
* If Cold Feet is cast on an enemy hero affected by Cold Embrace, it will almost guarantee the enemy comes out stunned.
Visage
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 3%)Techies
* Summon Familiars can scout Techies as they are placing mines. They even trigger Stasis Trap.
Mirana
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 16%)Techies
* Techies spends lots of time standing still planting stacks of Land Mines away from creep waves.
* Sacred Arrow can be used to scout hidden Land Mines among trees and at uphill places. It can also be used to catch Techies while he's planting them.
* If Techies is hit with a Sacred Arrow, he can be killed before he has a chance to use Blast Off!.
* Mirana has a high attack range to destroy his traps from a safe distance.
Pugna
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 4%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace is a death sentence against Pugna, since its the perfect setup for all his abilities, especially Life Drain.
* Decrepify can be cast to save the ally under Winter's Curse effect, wasting most of its duration.
* Winter Wyvern's abilities require a lot of mana, allowing Nether Ward to deal lots of damage.
Venomancer
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 5%)Techies
* Plague Wards may reveal a hiding Techies. If there's a sentry nearby, they may also reveal a stack of mines hidden in a juking spot.
Timbersaw
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 7%)Winter Wyvern
* Timbersaw relies on dealing massive amounts of pure damage, making Cold Embrace a good setup for his nukes.
* If he has Reactive Armor stacks, Timbersaw can tank the damage from his allies if he is targeted by Winter's Curse. If he's not the target, Timbersaw's abysmal attack damage will contribute next to nothing when he is cursed to attack an ally.
Oracle
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Techies
* Since Techies' skills are all magical damage, casting Fate's Edict immediately upon hearing the warning sound from Proximity Mines and
Blast Off! can render Oracle or an ally immune to the burst damage from these skills.
* If timed correctly, Remote Mines can also be countered using the same technique.
Additional:
* Fate's Edict gives 100% magic resistance, which prevents most of Techies' damage and his
Fortune's End dispels Stasis Trap root.
Undying
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 7%)Winter Wyvern
* Winter Wyvern cannot handle the Zombies created by Undying's Tombstone very well. In most situations, Zombies will have more movement speed than her.
* Undying can gain one or two easy Decay stacks on an ally in Cold Embrace. The ally will still take the damage as well.
Additional:
* Winter Wyvern cannot handle the Zombies created by Tombstone very well. In most situations, Zombies will have more movement speed than her.
* Undying can gain one or two easy Decay stacks on an ally in Cold Embrace. The ally will still take the damage as well, since it is magical.
Death Prophet
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 3%)Techies
* Exorcism's ghosts will automatically clear all Proximity Mines revealed when Death Prophet walks near them, provided that the ghosts do not have a specific target at that time.
Omniknight
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 3%)Winter Wyvern
* Guardian Angel completely counters Winter's Curse if he is able to cast it.
Additional:
* Guardian Angel completely counters Winter's Curse, allowing his team to survive Winter Wyvern's initiation.
* Purification and
Heavenly Grace are very useful against Arctic Burn and Splinter Blast as well.
Templar Assassin
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 5%)Techies
* Refraction can be very useful in safely navigating potentially mined choke points and rune spawns.
Slark
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 12%)Winter Wyvern
* Arctic Burn and Splinter Blast debuffs are dispellable with Dark Pact. Arctic Burn is also no escape against
Pounce.
* Cold Embrace just gives Slark free Essence Shift stacks. He also relies mostly on magic damage early in the game.
Anti-Mage
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 14%)Techies
* Thanks to Counterspell Anti-Mage can fight Techies head on and trip multiple mines once the late game hits.
Batrider
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 4%)Techies
* As long as Batrider is under the effects of Firefly, he can safely fly over mines.
* Sticky Napalm also punishes low mobility heroes that like to kite, such as Techies, by lowering their turn rate dramatically. This can also potentially delay Techies' Blast Off! if Techies tries to cast Blast Off! in a direction he's not currently facing.
Additional:
* As long as Batrider is under the effect of Firefly, he can safely fly over Proximity Miness (He does not receive vision over the mines).
Rubick
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 17%)Winter Wyvern
* All of Winter Wyvern's spells are generally good for Rubick to steal:
* Arctic Burn provides bonus attack range, night vision and burn.
* Splinter Blast makes farming and pushing efficient while also slowing down the enemies.
* Cold Embrace can heal an ally and protect them against physical attacks.
* Winter's Curse can be stolen by Rubick and use it against herself or her own team.
Shadow Demon
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 3%)Techies
* Shadow Demon's spammable illusions can be used to scout Techies' Proximity Mines. The illusion of your carries can be even used to trick Techies into detonating his precious
Remote Mines.
Outworld Destroyer
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 2%)Winter Wyvern
* Outworld Devourer's pure damage from Arcane Orb can go through Cold Embrace.
* Outworld Devourer can negate the healing from Cold Embrace using Astral Imprisonment, and steal mana while doing so.
* Outworld Devourer's damage during Winter's Curse is reduced due to Arcane Orb being unable to target allies.
Additional:
* Winter Wyvern must never put her allies in Cold Embrace against Outworld Destroyer as Arcane Orb will continue to steal Intelligence and deal damage to the defenseless hero.
* Arcane Orb does not hit his allies when he is taunted by Winter's Curse, making it weak against allies, but strong versus enemies.
* Astral Imprisonment can protect a target inflicted with Winter's Curse.
Bane
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 5%)Winter Wyvern
* Heroes that wish to disrupt fights with spell combos or big ultimates are vulnerable to the long stun of Fiend's Grip: Disruptor,

[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 8%)Techies

Silencer,
Skywrath Mage,
Sven,
Ogre Magi and others with reliable disables are crucial to killing Techies before they can suicide.
Lion
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 15%)Techies
* In general, heroes such as Lion,
Silencer,
Skywrath Mage,
Sven,
Ogre Magi and others with reliable disables are crucial to killing Techies before they can suicide.
Tinker
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 8%)Techies
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Winter Wyvern
* All of his damage is magical and pure, which makes Cold Embrace a good setup for his nukes.
* Winter's Curse is very hard to cast on Tinker because he usually stays in the back-lines in team-fights. In turn, Tinker has mediocre attack damage and will contribute very little when he is cursed to attack an ally. He can also save his ally under Winter's Curse effect with Ethereal Blade.
Techies
* A common playstyle among Tinkers is to teleport to a lane creep using Boots of Travel and immediately blink into the trees to cast
March of the Machines. If Techies can predict where said Tinker would blink after teleporting, he could place strategic Proximity Mines or even Remote Mines in those places. Stasis Traps also prevent Tinker from blinking or teleporting away.
Pudge
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 22%)Techies
* Techies struggles early game against heroes with naturally large strength and health regeneration such as Pudge,
Axe or
Ogre Magi, as the player is forced to lay down more mines than usual to kill these bulkier heroes.
Additional:
* Pudge is the perfect hero for tanking mines, as Flesh Heap grants him lots of strength.
* Techies' high ground defense can be bypassed by Pudge hooking his enemies to him.
* Techies usually sits in the trees during the laning stage, setting up Proximity Mines. Meat Hook can easily pull them out and set them up for a kill.
Lina
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 14%)Winter Wyvern
* Heavy nukers will do well against Cold Embrace (Lina,
Zeus etc).
Keeper of the Light
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 44% pickrate: 5%)Techies
* Heroes with flying vision such as Visage,
Beastmaster,
Keeper of the Light, or
Night Stalker can scout your mines from outside their trigger radius.
Wraith King
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 21%)Techies
* Due to Reincarnation and his general tankiness he can live through at least one major Remote Mines stack or Blast Off!.
* Special mention for a bug with his Aghanim's Scepter. If enemies get killed from your mines under the effect of "Wraith Delay", they get denied instead of crediting the kill to you.
Additional:
* Wraith King is not afraid to walk into mines, whenever he goes with his Reincarnation ready.
Winter Wyvern
* Many physical-only single-target heroes like Lifestealer,
Sven,
Wraith King,
Phantom Assassin etc.
Juggernaut
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 20%)Techies

Tusk,
Winter Wyvern,
Io,
Underlord,
Treant Protector and
Keeper of the Light.
Chen
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 1%)Techies
* His creeps can trigger Proximity Mines and
Stasis Trap, wasting them.
Additional:
* Holy Persuasion creeps can be used to clear mines.
* If Chen has an Aghanim's Scepter he can send his Ancient creeps to defuse visible Remote Mines with little risk of giving up their bounties because their magic resistance is extremely high.
* Due to their high magic resistance, siege creeps are the best possible creep to persuade for scouting and killing mines.
Techies
* Heroes with damage burst can often kill Chen or his allies before he can use Hand of God: Lina,
Techies,
Shadow Fiend,
Pugna,
Nyx Assassin.
Nature's Prophet
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 4%)Techies
* Equipped with Necronomicon 3,
Sentry Ward or a
Gem of True Sight, Nature's Prophet can use Teleportation to position himself outside the reach of Techies'
Remote Mines to clear them.
* Treants are useful in clearing Land Mines and
Remote Mines.
Winter Wyvern
* Broodmother,
Nature's Prophet,
Phantom Lancer by their nature offer very good target for Splinter Blast and Winter's Curse.
Lifestealer
[wiki] rating: 0.4 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 5%)Techies
* Lifestealer's Rage lets him clear Remote Mines and Proximity Mines with proper vision.
Additional:
* Rage protects Lifestealer from all of Techies' magic damage and disables and dispels Stasis Trap's debuff .
* Usually teams will have a hard time pushing high-ground against Techies, but Lifestealer can just pop Rage and walk uphill without fear of Techies.
Winter Wyvern
* Many physical-only single-target heroes like Lifestealer,
Sven,
Wraith King,
Phantom Assassin etc.
Meepo
[wiki] rating: -2.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 1%)Winter Wyvern
* Winter's Curse in late game is pretty much the end for Meepo or any of his nearby allies. Natural counter for Winter's Curse like
Linken's Sphere or
Lotus Orb is meaningless to her if she can land it on one of your clones.
Additional:
* Meepo's clones usually gets grouped in teamfight making any of them ideal target for Winter's Curse, forcing Meepo to literally kill himself. Also unlike another hero he cannot protect himself with Linken's Sphere.
Techies
* Due to the nature of Divided We Stand and the playstyle of splitting up multiple Meepos across the map, Techies can limit Meepo's movement with mines forcing the Meepo player to either keep all Meepos together or be extra careful when moving each individual Meepo because clones cannot carry any True Sight-providing item.
* However, if a mine blast isn't enough to kill a Meepo, he can Poof to safety of another Meepo.
Additional:
* Stasis Trap can lock multiple Meepos in place and prevent them from Poofing.
* Proximity Mines,
Remote Mines and
Blast Off! can deal heavy magic damage to multiple Meepos.
Morphling
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 12%)Winter Wyvern
* Winter Wyvern's
Winter's Curse turns Morphling's high attack damage and attack speed against his targeted teammate.
Techies
* Morphling usually has low max health due to shifting strength into agility, making him an easy target to blow up.
Underlord
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 54% pickrate: 8%)Winter Wyvern
* Winter's Curse and
Splinter Blast can devastate Underlord's team when they're grouped up for Dark Rift.
Techies
* In general, heroes that provide vision will see Dark Rift coming: Techies,
Templar Assassin,
Treant Protector
Spectre
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 7%)Winter Wyvern
* Arctic Burn makes it nearly impossible for Spectre to juke into the trees.
* Cold Embrace negates all of Spectre's physical damage. Furthermore, Cold Embrace will generally outheal Desolate.
* Winter's Curse can taunt illusions, not only wasting the entire duration of Haunt but also turning its illusions against Spectre's own team.
Ember Spirit
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 9%)Techies
* Ember Spirit relies on his Fire Remnant to keep a steady push and then retreat to a safe distance. Keeping two or three patches of Remote Mines on a lane will severely impair him from pushing that lane without risking his life.
Io
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 4%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace can render the extra attack speed from Overcharge meaningless.
* Splinter Blast and
Winter's Curse are very affective against Io, as it has to stay close to its tethered hero.
Hoodwink
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 22%)Techies
* remote mines are frequently placed in trees, and can thus kill an unwary Hoodwink should she
Scurry away due to her low HP pool.
* Blast Off! can clear out trees, denying the tactical advantages from Scurry.
Tusk
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 7%)Techies
* After using Snowball, Tusk can't control where he's going, allowing Techies to make him roll onto mines.
Earth Spirit
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 9%)Techies
* Stasis Trap's root prevents Earth Spirit from using Rolling Boulder to escape.
Storm Spirit
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 10%)Techies
* If Storm Spirit isn't careful, he could fall into a trap set by Techies and another hero acting as bait.
* Stasis Trap roots Storm Spirit for 2/3/4/5 seconds, which could be the end of Storm Spirit since he can't use Ball Lightning to escape.
Troll Warlord
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace can protect Troll Warlord's target, especially during Battle Trance.
* Winter's Curse can turn Troll Warlord's high physical damage and attack speed against his allies.
Additional:
* Cold Embrace will protect your ally from being damaged if he gets focused by Troll.
* His high attack speed and bash will help to kill his cursed ally faster.

[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 2%)Techies
* Well planted Proximity Mines can lure Bloodseeker to his death during ganking attempts.
Lone Druid
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 1%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace can protect allies from Lone Druid and the Spirit bear, who mainly deal physical damage
* Winter's Curse can turn Lone Druid and the Spirit Bear against his teammates.
Clinkz
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 6%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace can heal herself or an ally, as well as protecting them from Clinkz' physical attacks and wasting his mana if Searing Arrows is on autocast.
* Winter's Curse allows Winter Wyvern to turn Clinkz' high damage (and high attack speed if he used Skeleton Walk) against his allies, or take advantage of Clinkz' fragility if he can't use Skeleton Walk.
Monkey King
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 54% pickrate: 18%)Techies
* Proximity Mines and
Stasis Traps can be placed near trees to detect Monkey King.
* Follow up with Blast Off! to destroy the tree, causing Monkey King to take high damage, fall from the tree, and become stunned.
Additional:
* Techies can turn his tree jumping ability against him, by placing Proximity Mines/Stasis Traps that will detect him near trees, and then destroying the trees around him with Blast Off!, stunning him and dealing high damage, on top of him being silenced when the stun expires.
* Monkey King's mobility is also severely limited around Techies' mines as he will almost always trigger them due to the cooldown time between tree jumps. Monkey King will be forced to take mine damage or escape with Primal Spring.
Doom
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 44% pickrate: 3%)Winter Wyvern
* Heroes with the ability to heal allies, or those with good defensive abilities: (Chen,

Legion Commander
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 13%)Techies
* Heroes with low health will die easily during Duels, and can be farmed for damage in the early game: Crystal Maiden,
Lich,
Techies,
Rubick
Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace saves allies from dying in Duels.
* Winter's Curse turns Legion Commander's high damage against her allies, giving the enemy team little time to react.
* However, Winter Wyvern lanes very poorly against Legion Commander due to Press the Attack removing all the debuffs she can give. Winter Wyvern also has little chances of surviving if she gets Dueled herself.
Additional:
* Cold Embrace is very effective against Duel.
* Also, casting Winter's Curse at Legion Commander while an ally is in a
Duel will stun her for most of the duration, possibly preventing lethal damage dealt to your ally. It can also turn her high-damage against her teammate.
Enigma

* Heroes with summons like Broodmother,
Enigma,
Invoker,
Nature's Prophet,

Avatar, stopping Enigma's Black Hole channeling. It can also can turn his team against him, potentially killing him.

Additional:
* He can send wolves to defuse Proximity Mines, and he can catch up Techies and kill him before they can deny themselves. Even if the suicide is successful, Lycan can still survive because of his tankiness.
Winter Wyvern
* Arctic Burn allows Winter Wyvern to escape Lycan, even when he uses his ultimate.
* Splinter Blast is very effective in dealing with Lycan's summons.
* Cold Embrace saves allies from Lycan's raw physical damage and can buy allies enough time to turn the tide of battle.
* Winter's Curse stops lycan in his tracks and is very effective because of Lycan's summons.
Additional:
* All of Lycan's damage is physical which is totally negated by Cold Embrace.
* Lycan often moves around with large amount of creeps, wolves created by Summon Wolves, neutral creep dominated by
Helm of the Dominator and summons created by
Necronomicon which can be easily cleared by Splinter Blast or used as a great source of damage by Winter's Curse. If you catch Lycan with creeps nearby and affected by
Shapeshift using Winter's Curse on him will most certainly end up with his death.
Faceless Void
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 44% pickrate: 8%)Techies
* Faceless Void's Timewalk allows him to backtrack any damage taken from Techies' mines. Also, he can kill Techies easily with his

Winter Wyvern), banishing him or Faceless Void (

[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 10%)Techies
* Techies struggles early game against heroes with naturally large strength and health regeneration such as Pudge,
Axe or
Ogre Magi, as the player is forced to lay down more mines than usual to kill these bulkier heroes.
Winter Wyvern
* Heroes who can slow and kite Axe will severely inhibit his presence in fights: Bristleback,
Crystal Maiden,
Batrider,
Arc Warden,
Winter Wyvern,
Clockwerk
Luna
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 4%)Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace is no salvation against Lucent Beam and
Eclipse.
* Moon Glaives will not hit a hero affected by Winter's Curse, making it weak against allies, but strong versus enemies.
* Luna has better night vision provided by Lunar Blessing than Winter Wyvern when affected by Arctic Burn.
Additional:
* Cold Embrace is no salvation against Lucent Beam and
Eclipse.
* Moon Glaives will not hit a hero affected by Winter's Curse, making it weak against allies, but strong versus enemies.
* Luna has better night vision provided by Lunar Blessing than Winter Wyvern when affected by Arctic Burn.
Techies
* Luna has low HP, low range and often stalks through jungle. She cannot properly disarm Proximity Mines and could fall victim to their traps.
* Of course, if Luna happens to catch Techies off-guard, they won't be able to survive for long against Eclipse, Lucent Beam, and right-clicks.
Chaos Knight
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 4%)Techies
* Phantasm's illusions can be used to push towers and force Techies to detonate Remote Mines.
* Phantasm's illusions can be used to sweep Proximity Mines and
Stasis Traps.
* Chaos Knight can easily kill a lone Techies before they Blast Off!.
Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace protects targets of Reality Rift.
* Winter's Curse turns Phantasm illusions against Chaos Knight or a teammate.
* Splinter Blast deals decent area damage to Phantasm illusions.
* Arctic Burn's percentage-based damage quickly wears down Chaos Knight's health.
Additional:
* Winter Wyvern can make Chaos Knight's illusions attack the real one, provided the player knows who it is.
* Alternatively, Winter's Curse can make Chaos Knight and all his illusions attack one of his allies.
* Cold Embrace protects ally who is focused by Chaos Knight.
* Splinter Blast deals decent area damage to Chaos Knight's illusions.
Ogre Magi
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 17%)Techies

Axe or
Ogre Magi, as the player is forced to lay down more mines than usual to kill these bulkier heroes.
Winter Wyvern
* Winter Wyvern's
Winter's Curse works very well against the increased attack speed from Bloodlust.
Beastmaster
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 55% pickrate: 4%)Techies
* Call of the Wild Hawk can scout Techies as they are placing mines.
* Call of the Wild Boar can clear Proximity Mines.
* The stun of Primal Roar will usually be enough to deal with the squishy Techies before they can try to suicide with Blast Off!.
Winter Wyvern
* Cold Embrace mitigates Primal Roar's single-target initiation on allies.
* Winter's Curse can turn Beastmaster's summons and Inner Beast against his teammate.
Additional:
* Beastmaster's summons and Inner Beast are very useful to attack his cursed teammate.
* Cold Embrace effectively mitigates Primal Roar's single-target initiation on allies.
Broodmother

* Heroes with summons like Broodmother,

About
This website was made to help you in pick stage of online game Dota 2. It calculates rating for each possible counterpicks based on tips from web-based database made up entirely of user contributions Dota 2 wiki.
You will get the list of recommended hero counters with a list of tips written by Dota 2 wiki contributors explaining why it's good against the particular hero. In comparison to other similar websites, which show only rating based on average hero winrate from dotabuff or similar service.
How to interpret this data
Take it with a bit of grain of salt, especially if the recommendation has a low rating (<= 1), some heroes
may win a lane in an early game but would lose in late game (and vice versa). That's why sometimes
you could hero names appearing as a counter and as being countered, as on image:
You can also add your own tips, update old data and fix mistakes by editing page on Dota 2 Wiki (it works like Wikipedia - anyone can contribute, you don't even need to register) these edits will appear on this website automatically (data is updated several times per week).
Right now there is no app/overlay that will detect picks automatically (like overwolf dota plus or become the gamer), instead, you can open web version in a steam in-game browser or use mobile version on your smartphone.

Winter Wyvern
* Any ally that Winter Wyvern tries to save with
Cold Embrace can still be damaged by all of Zeus's spells.
Winter's Curse, his unimpressive attack damage and attack speed means they won't be hurt much by him. Zeus will also stay near the back of fights away from his allies, making a deadly Curse less likely.
* If Winter Wyvern tries to juke vision by flying up a cliff or in the trees, Zeus can gain vision there with Lightning Bolt or Thundergod's Wrath.
* If Zeus is forced to attack an ally by
Techies
* Due to the fact that
Lightning Bolt gives True Sight, Zeus is able to reveal where Techies' remote mines are. He can also cancel Blast Off! due to the mini-stun on the Lightning Bolt.
