Spectre
[wiki] rating: 2.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 3%)Night Stalker
[wiki] rating: 1.6 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 5%)Tinker
* Night Stalker can easily find Tinker in the trees during Dark Ascension.
* Void's mini-stun will stop Rearm and
Boots of Travel.
* Crippling Fear's silence will prevent Tinker from fighting back, as Tinker relies on his spells.
Additional:
* Night Stalker is one of the best heroes to find (and silence) Tinker in the trees during Dark Ascension.
Oracle
* Heroes with long disables, like Lion,
Night Stalker, or
Legion Commander, can prevent Oracle from using spells or items.
Phantom Lancer
[wiki] rating: 1.2 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* Heroes who are not easily crippled by Fate's Edict or Fortune's End, such as Timbersaw, or those who can dispel them, such as
Phantom Lancer, can kill Oracle unhindered.
Tinker
* Illusion heroes, such as Naga Siren,
Phantom Lancer,
Chaos Knight,
Terrorblade will become strong against Tinker in the late game when Tinker's only area of effect damage, March of the Machines, ceases to kill illusions quickly. Without
Aghanim's Scepter Tinker is forced to defensively disarm heroes with Laser, leaving illusions free to deal physical damage which Tinker's low armor makes highly effective. In addition,
Mjollnir or
Battle Fury, two common pickups against illusion heroes, don't work well on Tinker at all.
Anti-Mage
[wiki] rating: 1.2 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 14%)Tinker
* Anti-Mage's high mobility from Blink and tendency to build Battle Fury makes him strong against split-pushing heroes:
Nature's Prophet,
Tinker, and
Arc Warden.
Additional:
* Tinker is fragile and vulnerable against carries like Anti-Mage.
* Mana Break burns away his mana pool and deals bonus physical damage.
* Tinker's massive mana pool makes Mana Void deal large amount of damage, and can be used to cancel a
Boots of Travel teleport even through spell immunity.
* Blink gives Anti-Mage many options, like disjointing Heat Seeking Missiles or leaving March of Machines' area of effect. He can use Blink to wait out of sight for a split pushing Tinker or chase a blinking Tinker into trees.
* Tinker doesn't want any of his spells reflected back at him through Counterspell.
Oracle
* Anti-Mage can withstand magical burst damage much better than other carries, making him effective against nukers: Lich,
Necrophos,
Oracle, and
Leshrac.
Additional:
* Oracle has minimal damage potential against Anti-Mage due to Counterspell, and may even have some ability damage reflected at himself.
* Anti-Mage can easily overwhelm Oracle with Mana Break and
Mana Void.
* Blink allows Anti-Mage to easily chase and take advantage of Oracle's low mobility.
Nyx Assassin
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 54% pickrate: 14%)Tinker
* His whole skillset acts like a counter to Tinker:
* Impale prevents Tinker from blinding Nyx Assassin or fighting back, while giving Nyx' allies time to catch up to Tinker's position.
* Mana Burn generally deals more damage to intelligence based heroes like Tinker
* Spiked Carapace can stun Tinker at a moment of Nyx Assassin's choosing if March of the Machines has been cast. It is also quite easy to time Spiked Carapace against Heat Seeking Missiles.
* Vendetta allows Nyx to approach Tinker in the trees or wait for him in common hiding spots and deal heavy damage to his low armor.
Additional:
* March of the Machines and
Heat-Seeking Missile allow easy Spiked Carapace stuns.
* As a fragile hero that relies on mana and intelligence items, Tinker is vulnerable to Mana Burn.
* Nyx Assassin's stuns can interrupt Rearm and leave Tinker helpless.
Spirit Breaker
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 8%)Tinker
* Tinker relies on his high mobility from Boots of Travel and
Blink Dagger to survive. Those items don't help him if Spirit Breaker manages to cast Charge of Darkness on him.
* Spirit Breaker can easily cancel Rearm and
Boots of Travel.
Clockwerk
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 7%)Tinker
* Rocket Flare can find Tinker if he blinks into the treeline, and Hookshot will prevent him from teleporting out.
* Battery Assault makes Tinker unable to Rearm by stunning him repeatedly.
Additional:
* Clockwerk can easily catch a split pushing Tinker with his Hookshot and prevent him from escaping with
Power Cogs and
Battery Assault.
* He can find a Tinker hiding in trees with his Rocket Flare.
* Clockwerk usually buys a Blade Mail, which does lots of damage to Tinker if he gets hit by his abilities (especially March of the Machines).
Earth Spirit
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 8%)Tinker
* Tinker is an easy target for Earth Spirit to initiate on. He likes to split push lanes once he acquieres Boots of Travel and Earth Spirit can jump him with his Rolling Boulder and disable him to buy enough time for his teammates to come and assist Earth Spirit.
* The huge range of Stone Remnant and Rolling Boulder enables Earth Spirit to stop Tinker from teleporting to his fountain since Tinker tends to buy Blink Dagger most of the time to escape.
Dazzle
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 5%)Tinker
* Shadow Wave provides good sustain against Tinker's spammable abilities.
* Shallow Grave can stop Tinker from bursting down a target.
Storm Spirit
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 11%)Tinker
* Storm Spirit destroys trees and ignores impassable terrains with Ball Lightning, rendering them dangerous places for Tinker to hide within.
* Ball Lightning disjoints projectile from Heat-Seeking Missile and damage from
March of the Machines.
* Electric Vortex prevents Tinker from teleporting away, and Static Remnant and Overload can easily burst him down.
Additional:
* He can easily catch Tinker in the trees with Ball Lightning and kill him with
Orchid Malevolence and his abilities, which deal both physical and magical damage, making them difficult for Tinker to itemize against.
Lifestealer
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 5%)Tinker
* Rage will dispel Laser's blind and turns him spell immune for the duration so Tinker cannot damage him.
* Feast will quickly bring down Tinker due to being so fragile.
Additional:
* Lifestealer's Rage makes him immune to all of Tinker's damage and debuffs.
* Lifestealer can infest any mobile hero (teams usually pick one against Tinker), which ensures that Tinker will die if he is caught.
Zeus
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 9%)Tinker
* Due to Tinker's low health pool, Zeus can easily burst Tinker down, while also cancelling Rearm.
* Once Zeus gets Aghanim's Scepter, he will gain
Nimbus, which allows him to scout out Tinker on the map, especially when he is pushing lanes while hiding in the trees.
Additional:
* Zeus can easily reveal Tinker's location in the trees with Thundergod's wrath.
* When Zeus has an Aghanim's Scepter, he can use his
Nimbus, together with
Lightning Bolt to interrupt Tinker's
Boots of Travel channelling and cancel Tinker's
Blink Dagger.
Silencer
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 7%)Oracle
* Oracle's reliance on spamming his spells can be easily hindered by Silencer's Arcane Curse.
* Last Word and Global Silence negates Oracle's attempt to save his allies with his spells.
* Fate's Edict is useless against Glaives of Wisdom's pure damage.
Tinker
* As Tinker relies heavily on his spells to be effective, Last Word and
Global Silence will render him largely useless.
* Arcane Curse effectively prevents Tinker from casting spells during its duration, as he will otherwise suffer heavy damage.
* Glaives of Wisdom deal pure damage, which make quick work of fragile heroes like Tinker.
Additional:
* Silencer can stop Rearm, preventing Tinker from spamming his abilities/items or escaping.
Oracle
* Fortune's End can nullify Arcane Curse,
Last Word, and
Global Silence, if cast at the right time with the right targets.
* Fate's Edict can prevent Silencer from attacking, which he relies on with Glaives of Wisdom, for a lot of his damage.
Shadow Demon
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 2%)Oracle
* Disruption can protect Shadow Demon's allies from Fortune's End, preserving healing or buffs. It can also catch Oracle's allies, allowing
Shadow Poison and
Soul Catcher to be used without being dispelled.
* Demonic Purge prevents over-time healing during False Promise, such as Purifying Flames and
Urn of Shadows. If he has
Aghanim's Scepter, this issue can persist for longer or on multiple allies.
* It will not, however, prevent healing from instant abilities, items, or auras, making Mekansm a good choice against him.
Tinker
* Heroes that can gain vision over trees to catch Tinker: Invoker,
Shadow Demon,
Batrider
Oracle
* Heroes who can dispel will be able to remove Shadow Poison before Shadow Demon can build up a big stack, or remove Soul Catcher's debuff to instantly bring the health of affected heroes back to a considerable amount: Abaddon,
Slark,
Legion Commander,
Oracle.
Vengeful Spirit
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 4%)Tinker
* Wave of Terror can reveal a Tinker attempting to hide in the trees and then
Nether Swap and
Magic Missile will both serve to interrupt/lock him down, should he attempt to town portal or reload.
Axe
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* False Promise will not save an ally from Culling Blade if their health is low enough.
* Fate's Edict, offensively or defensively, does little to protect Oracle's allies from the majority of Axe's damage.
Slark
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 13%)Tinker
* Pounce prevents Tinker from blinking away.
* Slark frequently builds Shadow Blade, which allows him to approach Tinker unnoticed. Since Tinker's farming usually covers a significant amount of area on the map, Sentry Wards may not be cost effective.
* Shadow Dance allows Slark to detect both common and unusual wards. Eliminating common ward causes Tinker trouble farming many lanes if he does not know who may be waiting to jump on him. Slark is also uniquely able to identify some of the less common wards used by Tinker, such as those placed on the cliffs at map edges which Tinker uses to give him vision over the trees he uses to hide in.
* Slark's extremely high move speed from Shadow Dance, potentially stacked with
Shadow Blade, allows him to easily follow Tinker between lanes, especially if Tinker has pushed the lanes out.
* Dark Pact dispels Laser's blind.
Doom
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 3%)Tinker
* Tinker is heavily reliant on casting his spells and Doom can disable all of his abilities and items. An
Aghanim's Scepter only makes it harder for Tinker to survive.
Additional:
* Tinker is heavily dependent on active abilities and Doom prevents him from using any of them.
Oracle
* Supports with useful teamfight or contribution spells will be helpless against Doom: Dazzle,
Oracle,
Warlock.
Oracle
* Heroes with the ability to heal allies, or those with good defensive abilities: (Chen,
Dazzle,
Io,
Oracle,
Omniknight,
Witch Doctor,
Winter Wyvern, (
Abaddon, etc.
Pudge
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 19%)Tinker
* He can Meat Hook a Tinker hiding in the trees and follow it up with
Dismember and
Rot for an easy solo kill, as Tinker doesn't tend to buy survivability items.
* His innate magic resistance and huge health pool from Flesh Heap makes it hard for Tinker to deal serious damage to Pudge.
Additional:
* Meat Hook can used to pull Tinker while he is hiding in the trees, and a follow up with Dismember and Rot leads to an easy solo kill, as Tinker doesn't buy many survivability items.
* Flesh Heap makes it hard for Tinker to deal serious damage.
Bristleback
[wiki] rating: 1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* Fortune's End cannot dispel Warpath stacks on Bristleback or
Quill Spray stacks on allies.
* Bristleback can heavily reduce Oracle's damage output. With it, Oracle may accidentally heal Bristleback with Purifying Flames, especially if Bristleback has bonus magic resistance.
Broodmother
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 56% pickrate: 2%)Oracle
* Oracle cannot easily deal with swarms of units, making him weak against heroes like Phantom Lancer or
Broodmother.
Puck
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 18%)Tinker
* Low health spellcasters: Lina,
Witch Doctor,
Tinker,
Keeper of the Light, all rely heavily on their spells and are fragile heroes. They all also have avoidable spells, allowing Puck to get to them and quickly burst them down.
Elder Titan
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 1%)Oracle
* Elder Titan's
Echo Stomp can turn into a 5 second stun on an ally under the effect of False Promise, as it delays all damage and makes it impossible to break the damage threshold of Echo Stomp.
Visage
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 1%)Oracle
* Because Oracle uses few, powerful instances of damage to kill enemies, Templar Assassin's
Refraction and
Visage's
Gravekeeper's Cloak can absorb his burst damage.
Naga Siren
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 2%)Tinker
Templar Assassin
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 5%)Oracle
* Because Oracle uses few, powerful instances of damage to kill enemies, Templar Assassin's
Refraction and
Visage's
Gravekeeper's Cloak can absorb his burst damage.
Legion Commander
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 12%)Tinker
* Press the Attack can dispel Laser's blind while providing great attack speed and health regeneration.
* Once caught in a Duel, Tinker, who completely relies on his spells to be effective, has little chances of survival with his low health pool and armor.
Oracle
* Heroes with long disables, like Lion,
Night Stalker, or
Legion Commander, can prevent Oracle from using spells or items.
Oracle
* Fate's Edict prevents Legion Commander from attacking for a few seconds, potentially saving Oracle's ally.
* Fortune's End dispels Press the Attack's healing and attack speed buff, as well as the movement speed bonus from Overwhelming Odds.
* False Promise protects allies and prevents Legion Commander from winning Duels and gaining bonus damage.
Additional:
* Provided that the enemy team does not have an Axe, Oracle can guarantee that his ally survives for the duration of the Duel with False Promise and has decent nuke potential to help ally to win a Duel. He can also disarm Legion Commander with Fate's Edict.
* Oracle can dispel enemy buffs like Overwhelming Odds and
Press the Attack with Fortune's End.
Meepo
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 1%)Tinker
* Tinker who can't fight multiple heroes will suffer greatly against Ransack and Earthbind.
Kunkka
[wiki] rating: 0.6 (winrate: 44% pickrate: 4%)Tinker
* Similarly, heroes with low cooldown teleports can be afraid to split push against X Marks the Spot, such as Tinker and
Nature's Prophet.
* In general, highly mobile heroes like Earth Spirit or
Storm Spirit are at a disadvantage against X Marks the Spot.
* Similarly, heroes with low cooldown teleports can be afraid to split push against X Marks the Spot, such as Tinker and
Nature's Prophet.
Additional:
* X Marks the Spot can be used to prevent Tinker from escape with
Blink Dagger or
Boots of Travel, discourage him from snapping farm and snapping gank. However, in later game, it'll be much more difficult because Tinker can buy
Black King Bar or
Linken's Sphere to prevent Kunkka from placing X on him, or
Eul's Scepter of Divinity to prevent the recall
Timbersaw
[wiki] rating: 0.2 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 7%)Oracle
* Heroes who are not easily crippled by Fate's Edict or Fortune's End, such as Timbersaw, or those who can dispel them, such as
Phantom Lancer, can kill Oracle unhindered.
Tinker
* Timbersaw's ability to destroy trees can be a serious problem for some heroes that use them, as either a way of enhancing their spells like Treant Protector, or heroes that tend to hide inside of them like
Tinker and
Monkey King.
Tinker
* All Tinker's damage is magic/pure and completely ignores Timbersaw's Reactive Armor.
* Timbersaw very rarely builds Black King Bar, making him very vulnerable if Tinker builds
Scythe of Vyse.
Magnus
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 4%)Tinker
* Tinker can break Magnus's Blink Dagger using March of the Machines and
Heat-Seeking Missile, therefore delaying any initiation or making Magnus use Skewer or
Force Staff to initiate. Tinker usually gets his own Blink Dagger as well, which makes him harder to lock down unless Magnus commits Reverse Polarity only for Tinker.
Oracle
* Any hero who can counter-initiate in anticipation without getting caught in Reverse Polarity: Sven,
Omniknight,
Enigma,
Luna,
Naga Siren,
Mars,
Jakiro,
Venomancer,
Elder Titan,
Faceless Void,
Rubick,
Keeper of the Light,
Pugna,
Invoker,
Spectre,
Alchemist,
Treant Protector,
Lina,
Oracle,
Zeus,
Shadow Shaman,
Phoenix,
Razor,
Huskar,
Batrider,
Kunkka,
Tidehunter,
Wraith King,
Sand King.
Jakiro
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 10%)Tinker
* Heroes with good counter-push abilities to clear creep waves can hinder Jakiro's early pushing ability: Death Prophet,
Sniper,
Tinker,
Windranger.
Oracle
* Fate's Edict allowed Oracle to make allies spell immune, allowing him to save allies from Jakiro's spells.
* Fate's Edict can be cast onto Jakiro to disarm him and prevent him from pushing with his Liquid Fire.
* False Promise allows Oracle to free allies from Jakiro's Ice Path.
Necrophos
[wiki] rating: -1.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 3%)Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Oracle
* Fortune's End can dispel Ghost Shroud, rending Necrophos vulnerable to physical damage. Also it's worth noting that Necrophos takes additional magic damage when in Ethereal state, which makes Purifying Flames a powerful nuke against him.
* Fate's Edict fully negates the damage from Reaper's Scythe, which its own delayed animation makes it relatively easy to predict and nullify.
Additional:
* During the laning stage, Oracle's Purifying Flames nullifies any damage that Heartstopper Aura might inflict.
* Fate's Edict and
False Promise can protect an ally from Reaper's Scythe.
* Oracle can dispel Ghost Shroud with Fortune's End.
Enchantress
[wiki] rating: -1.2 (winrate: 40% pickrate: 1%)Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Oracle
* Heroes with little health or magic resistance are easily picked off with Oracle's magic burst, such as Skywrath Mage,
Crystal Maiden, or
Enchantress.
Phantom Assassin
[wiki] rating: -1.2 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 15%)Oracle
* Fate's Edict cripples many heroes who rely on attacks, such as Phantom Assassin,
Sven, or
Enchantress, without a dispel or a
Black King Bar.
Tinker
* Heroes who rely on physical damage will suffer from Laser: Phantom Assassin,
Wraith King,
Huskar.
Additional:
* The blind from Laser can render Phantom Assassin useless if she is not protected by
Black King Bar.
* Tinker is a natural Scythe of Vyse carrier and can permanently disable Phantom Assassin, not giving her chance to activate
Black King Bar if she has it.
Mars
[wiki] rating: -1.2 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 15%)Oracle
* Heroes with high magical or pure damage will bypass Bulwark: Timbersaw,
Dark Willow,
Enigma,
Invoker,
Pugna,
Skywrath Mage,
Tinker,
Zeus,
Oracle.
Tinker
* Heroes with high magical or pure damage will bypass Bulwark: Timbersaw,
Dark Willow,
Enigma,
Invoker,
Pugna,
Skywrath Mage,
Tinker,
Zeus,
Oracle.
Crystal Maiden
[wiki] rating: -1.2 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 14%)Oracle
* Heroes with little health or magic resistance are easily picked off with Oracle's magic burst, such as Skywrath Mage,
Crystal Maiden, or
Enchantress.
Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Wraith King
[wiki] rating: -1.2 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 18%)Oracle
* Heroes with area dispel can kill multiple skeletons at once: Brewmaster,
Oracle.
Tinker
* Heroes who rely on physical damage will suffer from Laser: Phantom Assassin,
Wraith King,
Huskar.
Razor
[wiki] rating: -1.2 (winrate: 55% pickrate: 4%)Oracle
* Fortune's End can catch out or impair position-based heroes with low mobility, such as Sniper or
Razor.
Tinker
* Heroes who rely on abilities to deal damage (e.g. Timbersaw,
Tinker) can fight a Razor even after Static Link.
Nature's Prophet
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 45% pickrate: 7%)Tinker
* Tinker with Rearm and
Boots of Travel can teleport and defend towers whenever Nature's Prophet tries to push.
* Laser prevents Nature's Prophet from attacking. Additionally, even with
Monkey King Bar, Nature's Prophet cannot hit towers and buildings.
* March of the Machines can easily kill an entire wave of Treants, giving Tinker lots of gold.
Shadow Fiend
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 18%)Tinker
* During the laning stage Laser will reduce Shadow Fiend's last hits, preventing him from getting Necromastery souls.
* Shadow Fiend has low health and is vulnerable to Tinker's high magic burst.
Additional:
* The blind from Laser prevents Shadow Fiend from attacking for its duration, potentially preventing him from getting a kill.
* Scythe of Vyse can be used to prevent Shadow Fiend from casting Requiem of Souls.
* A combination of Tinker's abilities and his items (like the Dagon 5 and
Ethereal Blade combo) can kill Shadow Fiend quickly.
Ember Spirit
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* Oracle can shut down both of Ember's early game abilities. Fortune's End can dispel Flame Guard on Ember Spirit and
Searing Chains on allies.
* When Ember Spirit is affected by Fortune's End, his Fire Remnants move at 0 movement speed.
* Disarming him with Fate's Edict does affect Ember's Sleight of Fist ability, possibly making him useless for a few seconds in the late game without a dispel or spell immunity. This is especially good if he has a rapier or two. However, positioning for this is difficult when Ember plays far back.
Witch Doctor
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 13%)Oracle
* It is especially easy for Oracle to negate the damage from Maledict, and even heal through it with Fate's Edict and
Purifying Flames.
* If by some miracle an enemy is still about to die because of Maledict, he can still save him with False Promise.
Rubick
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 17%)Oracle
* Oracle's high magic damage output can easily take down Rubick's low health pool.
* Because Oracle likes to combine his spells together, the only good Spell Steal target he gives is False Promise. This scenario can be avoided by shift queueing Fortune's End and casting it immediately, as it has no cast point, or by staying in the back line of fights if out of mana.
* As a position based hero, Rubick will have a very hard time against Fortune's End due to its absurd range and very long root duration.
Lone Druid
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 1%)Tinker
* Laser blinds Lone Druid, making his attacks miss. Furthermore, a Tinker with Aghanim's Scepter is sure to blind both Lone Druid and his bear, negating his ability to root or deal physical damage.
Slardar
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 6%)Oracle
* Fortune's End applies a basic dispel which can be used to dispel Corrosive Haze, or even Slardar's own Guardian Sprint.
* False Promise is able to dispel Corrosive Haze and Slithereen Crush stun/slow from any allies Oracle chooses to cast it on.
* Fate's Edict can also be cast on Slardar to prevent him from proccing his Bash of the Deep.
Leshrac
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 2%)Oracle
* Oracle's Fate's Edict will protect an ally from Leshrac's nuking damage.
* Oracle's False Promise can dispel Leshrac's stun and slow from his abilities, allowing an ally to escape.
* Fortune's End can stop Leshrac from chasing opponents or running away.
Drow Ranger
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 5%)Tinker
* Laser applies a blind debuff, making Drow Ranger miss her high damage attacks.
* Heat-Seeking Missile lets Tinker out-range Drow Ranger and hit her in the backline of a teamfight.
Phoenix
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* Phoenix does significant magic damage over time which can either be dispelled or negated by Fate's Edict.
* Since Phoenix sacrifices some of his health to cast abilities it makes him very vulnerable to Oracle's burst potential
Ogre Magi
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 15%)Oracle
* Fate's Edict gives full immunity from Ogre Magi's mostly magical damage.
* Fortune's End can dispel Ignite (when used on allies) and Bloodlust (when used on enemies).
* False Promise can dispel Ignite and Fireblast.
Winter Wyvern
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 5%)Tinker
* All of his damage is magical and pure, which makes Cold Embrace a good setup for his nukes.
* Winter's Curse is very hard to cast on Tinker because he usually stays in the back-lines in team-fights. In turn, Tinker has mediocre attack damage and will contribute very little when he is cursed to attack an ally. He can also save his ally under Winter's Curse effect with Ethereal Blade.
Omniknight
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 1%)Oracle
* Fortune's End's AoE dispel will remove Guardian Angel.
Additional:
* With Fortune's End, Oracle can dispel Guardian Angel in an area of effect.
Dark Willow
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 7%)Oracle
* Fortune's End can easily dispel Cursed Crown before it times out and stuns. He can also save a stunned ally with False Promise.
* Fate's Edict can easily negate Bedlam's over-time damage, since the spell provides no form of control. Similarly, he can also negate the magic burst from
Shadow Realm.
* Fortune's End can dispel the fear effect from Terrorize, and it can remove the root from
Bramble Maze if you're quick enough. Be mindful that Fortune's End only dispels your allies' debuffs on the primary target.
Additional:
* Fortune's End not being disjointable is almost an ensured disable if Dark Willow tries to escape with Shadow Realm. Dispels Cursed Crown and Terrorize.
* Fate's Edict negates all her magic damage in case she catches a single hero.
* False Promise's strong dispel removes Dark Willow's disables.
Bloodseeker
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 4%)Tinker
* Laser can be very effective against Bloodrage as the damage will be amplified while the blind prevents Bloodseeker from landing hits.
* Tinker is a natural Boots of Travel carrier and Rearm guarantees him escape from Rupture.
Additional:
* Laser blinds Bloodseeker, preventing him from getting last hits and denies during the laning stage and preventing him from finishing off enemies.
* Tinker always buys Boots of Travel, helping him escape Bloodseeker's early ganks.
* Tinker's heavy magical damage will burst down Bloodseeker during the early to mid game, as he has little health.
Dark Seer
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 3%)Oracle
* Fortune's End can dispel Ion Shell, which cripples Dark Seer economy since it's his most efficient tool for farming.
* Fortune's End can dispel Surge, effectively slowing his movement speed making him vulnerable to ganks or skirmishes.
Additional:
* Fortune's End dispels Ion Shell and Surge, making any gank attempt on Dark Seer in the laning phase likely to succeed.
* Fate's Edict prevents all magical damage that comes from Dark Seer's abilities.
* Fortune's End dispels Ion Shell on creeps, which Dark Seer relies on to farm and zone.
Troll Warlord
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* Fate's Edict can disarm Troll, rendering him useless in a teamfight, especially if he has already used Battle Trance.
* Fortune's End and
Purifying Flames can provide ample magic damage to help burst down Troll Warlord quickly in the early to mid game.
* False Promise can save an ally from Troll Warlord's initiation, forcing him to switch targets and lose his Fervor stacks, or waste time during Battle Trance.
Ancient Apparition
[wiki] rating: -1.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* False Promise can prevent the shatter from Ice Blast and Fate's Edict can protect an ally from the magical damage over time for a while.
* Oracle can deny allies who are frostbitten. If he uses Purifying Flames to reach the shatter threshold, it will count as a deny.
* Fortune's End can dispel Cold Feet on affected allies, preventing them from getting frozen.
Additional:
* False Promise can dispel the stun from Cold Feet and can save an ally that's about to shatter from Ice Blast, even allowing healing with
Purifying Flames because of the delayed effect.
* Purifying Flames also allows Oracle to deny his allies if they're affected by Ice Blast. If he brings his allies' health to or below the shatter threshold, it will count as him denying the ally.
* Fate's Edict is good against all of Ancient Apparition's abilities at all stages of the game.
* Fortune's End can dispel Cold Feet from allies.
Faceless Void
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 41% pickrate: 4%)Oracle
* Time Walk and
Backtrack allow Faceless Void to easily negate Oracle's burst damage.
* Time Dilation is effective against Oracle's low-cooldown spells. Although dispellable with Fortune's End, it can still catch Oracle off guard if Fortune's End is on cooldown.
Oracle
* Any hero that can nullify effects of Chronosphere: (Omniknight,
Keeper of the Light with
Aghanim's Scepter during daytime,
Winter Wyvern), banishing him or Faceless Void (
Outworld Destroyer,
Shadow Demon,
Earth Spirit with
Aghanim's Scepter) or protecting him in other ways (
Dazzle,
Oracle,
Abaddon) can greatly limit Chronosphere's potential.
Tinker
* If Tinker can stay outside of Chronosphere, Laser can cause Faceless Void to miss all his attacks.
* Faceless Void has low health and strongly relies on Time Walk's healing factor to remain alive. Getting caught by Tinker with
Scythe of Vyse will almost always spell a quick end for Void.
* Rearm ignores Time Dilation completely.
Sven
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 43% pickrate: 1%)Oracle
* Fate's Edict cripples many heroes who rely on attacks, such as Phantom Assassin,
Sven, or
Enchantress, without a dispel or a
Black King Bar.
Keeper of the Light
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 46% pickrate: 6%)Oracle
* Heroes with dispels: Legion Commander,
Oracle,
Slark
Grimstroke
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 12%)Tinker
* Heroes with powerful spammable abilities will prove problematic for Grimstroke as Ink Swell does not protect him from them: Zeus,
Skywrath Mage,
Tinker,
Lina
Gyrocopter
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 47% pickrate: 2%)Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Sniper
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 6%)Oracle
* Fortune's End can catch out or impair position-based heroes with low mobility, such as Sniper or
Razor.
Techies
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 7%)Tinker
* A common playstyle among Tinkers is to teleport to a lane creep using Boots of Travel and immediately blink into the trees to cast
March of the Machines. If Techies can predict where said Tinker would blink after teleporting, he could place strategic Proximity Mines or even Remote Mines in those places. Stasis Traps also prevent Tinker from blinking or teleporting away.
Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Oracle
* Since Techies' skills are all magical damage, casting Fate's Edict immediately upon hearing the warning sound from Proximity Mines and
Blast Off! can render Oracle or an ally immune to the burst damage from these skills.
* If timed correctly, Remote Mines can also be countered using the same technique.
Additional:
* Fate's Edict gives 100% magic resistance, which prevents most of Techies' damage and his
Fortune's End dispels Stasis Trap root.
Skywrath Mage
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 6%)Oracle
* Heroes with little health or magic resistance are easily picked off with Oracle's magic burst, such as Skywrath Mage,
Crystal Maiden, or
Enchantress.
Windranger
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 16%)Tinker
* Since Windranger is bad against magical damage, heroes with continuous magical damage or magical nukes can blast her: Zeus,
Tinker,
Leshrac,
Viper,
Skywrath Mage,
Lion,
Lina,
Venomancer.
Riki
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 15%)Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Earthshaker
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 15%)Tinker
* Tinker's
March of the Machines will disable
Blink Dagger over a large area.
Venomancer
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 5%)Oracle
* Fortune's End and False Promise easily dispel many crippling debuffs, such as Venomancer's
Venomous Gale, or
Skywrath Mage's
Ancient Seal.
Additional:
* Fortune's End can dispel Venomous Gale and Poison Sting from allies.
* Fate's Edict grants 100% magic resistance to target, inhibiting the damage from Venomancer abilities.
Lion
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 16%)Oracle
* Heroes with long disables, like Lion,
Night Stalker, or
Legion Commander, can prevent Oracle from using spells or items.
Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Oracle
* Lion is extremely dependent on his abilities. Silences like Silencer's
Last Word, magic resistance like
Oracle's
Fate's Edict, and dispels like
Legion Commander's
Press the Attack all make his abilities less effective.
Huskar
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 3%)Tinker
* Heroes who rely on physical damage will suffer from Laser: Phantom Assassin,
Wraith King,
Huskar.
Void Spirit
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 12%)Oracle
* Heroes that can purge his slow and disables are very difficult to go on and their team: Abaddon,
Oracle.
Monkey King
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 17%)Tinker
* Heroes with wide AoE abilities will reveal Monkey King through Mischief: Necrophos,
Phoenix,
Alchemist,
Earthshaker,
Razor,
Tinker,
Leshrac,
Queen of Pain
Bane
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 3%)Oracle
* Heroes with dispels can dispel Bane's disables from their allies: Oracle,
Legion Commander,
Omniknight
Mirana
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 51% pickrate: 16%)Oracle
* Heroes that can protect or dispel stunned allies such as Legion Commander,
Outworld Destroyer,
Shadow Demon and
Oracle can reduce the effectiveness of Sacred Arrow.
Juggernaut
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 18%)Oracle
* Heroes with abilities that can save teammates are also effective such as Shadow Demon,
Dazzle,
Oracle,
Bane,
Pugna,
Tusk,
Winter Wyvern,
Io,
Underlord,
Treant Protector and
Keeper of the Light.
Outworld Destroyer
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 17%)Tinker
* Tinker's
Laser is useful against Outworld Devourer, as the blind prevents him from landing Arcane Orbs.
Bounty Hunter
[wiki] rating: -0.6 (winrate: 54% pickrate: 9%)Oracle
* Oracle with
Fortune's End and
False Promise
* Heroes that can remove the Track debuff with their skills:
* Abaddon with
Aphotic Shield and
Borrowed Time
* Huskar with
Life Break
* Juggernaut with
Blade Fury
* Legion Commander with
Press the Attack
* Lifestealer with
Rage and
Infest
* Naga Siren with
Mirror Image
* Omniknight with
Heavenly Grace
* Oracle with
Fortune's End and
False Promise
* Phantom Lancer with
Doppelganger
* Slark with
Dark Pact
* Ursa with
Enrage
* Weaver with
Time Lapse
* Tidehunter with
Kraken Shell when damage received reaches the threshold.
Terrorblade
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 48% pickrate: 4%)Tinker
Tinker
* Tinker can single-handedly stop Terrorblade's early-push and quickly clear his illusions with Laser (especially with Aghanim's Scepter) and March of Machines.
* Tinker has perfect tools to reveal Terrorblade from his illusions as well as to burst him down if he is low-health before he will be able Sunder.
Additional:
* An Aghanim's Scepter upgraded
Laser allows Tinker to blind Terrorblade and illusions.
* Tinker can also clear Terrorblade's illusions and stall his pushing attempts with March of the Machines .
Batrider
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 5%)Tinker
* Heroes that can gain vision over trees to catch Tinker: Invoker,
Shadow Demon,
Batrider
Oracle
* False Promise dispels Flaming Lasso.
* Fortune's End can root Batrider after he uses Flaming Lasso. It can also dispel Sticky Napalm and Flamebreak.
* Fate's Edict when used on a Lasso'd target will leave them immune to magical damage, making it difficult to burst them quickly before the Lasso ends.
Chaos Knight
[wiki] rating: -0.4 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 3%)Tinker
Tinker
* With Aghanim's Scepter, Tinker's Laser completely stops Chaos Knight's damage, forcing him to buy either a Black King Bar for his own survivability while leaving his illusions still vulnerable, or a Monkey King Bar leaving him still vulnerable to Tinker's nukes, though improving his damage.
* Tinker rarely finds himself in the middle of a fight, which is where Chaos Knight typically thrives, and even in the rare cases of being so, at level 3 Tinker's constant rearm and blink away can kite and dodge Chaos Knight's spells reliably, so Chaos Knight has very little catch against Tinker's mobility. This gives Tinker impunity to create more chaos in a teamfight than Chaos Knight can control, laying down the field with March of the Machines and constantly being hit by rockets and lasers.
Additional:
* Tinker's Aghanim's Scepter upgraded Laser can blind him and all of his Phantasm illusions.
Invoker
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 49% pickrate: 16%)Tinker
* Heroes that can gain vision over trees to catch Tinker: Invoker,
Shadow Demon,
Batrider
Additional:
* Tinker is relatively helpless against Invoker, as his Rearm and
Boots of Travel can be easily interrupted by Invoker's long range disables, even if he blinks away.
Tinker
* Any hero with a low HP pool is easy for Tinker to nuke down: Crystal Maiden,
Enchantress,
Gyrocopter,
Lion,
Riki,
Techies,
Terrorblade,
Necrophos,
Invoker.
Luna
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 50% pickrate: 4%)Tinker
* Luna can easily prevent Tinker from escaping with Boots of Travel or Rearm with
Lucent Beam.
* Luna can also quickly tear Tinker to shreds with Eclipse as soon as he jumps in with
Blink Dagger.
Tinker
* Tinker's March of the Machines and
Laser both destroy Luna's small health pool and make it hard for Luna to initiate with Eclipse (and making it hard to land glaives in Laser's case).
* Since Tinker typically buys Blink Dagger, Luna has a hard time catching him despite her high movement speed.
* Tinker can easily disable and nuke Luna down with Dagon or
Scythe of Vyse before she can use Lucent Beam or Eclipse.
Clinkz
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 52% pickrate: 5%)Oracle
* Heroes who can take advantage of Oracle's low mobility or catch him out of position, such as Clinkz and
Anti-Mage, can easily pick him off.
Tinker
* Heroes with high armor like Dragon Knight, or with abilities to cause attacks to miss like
Phantom Assassin,
Riki and
Tinker will be hard to deal with, as Clinkz relies almost entirely on physical attacks.
Pugna
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 53% pickrate: 4%)Tinker
* Nether Ward discourages Tinker from using abilities and items due to its high damage against heavy mana usage.
Oracle
* Most of Pugna's damage is magical, which can get blocked by Fate's Edict's 100% magic resistance.
* Oracle has two abilities that apply a dispel, which can easily remove Decrepify on his ally or Oracle.
* Oracle has a very long Attack Range and a very low Base Attack Time, which enables him to take down Nether Ward swiftly from long distance.
Beastmaster
[wiki] rating: 0.0 (winrate: 56% pickrate: 7%)Tinker
* Beastmaster's Hawk can find Tinker easily while he is pushing or blinking into trees.
Oracle
* False Promise effectively nullifies Primal Roar's single-target initiation on allies.
* Purifying Flames kills Beastmaster's Hawk instantly and Boar with two casts.

About
This website was made to help you in pick stage of online game Dota 2. It calculates rating for each possible counterpicks based on tips from web-based database made up entirely of user contributions Dota 2 wiki.
You will get the list of recommended hero counters with a list of tips written by Dota 2 wiki contributors explaining why it's good against the particular hero. In comparison to other similar websites, which show only rating based on average hero winrate from dotabuff or similar service.
How to interpret this data
Take it with a bit of grain of salt, especially if the recommendation has a low rating (<= 1), some heroes
may win a lane in an early game but would lose in late game (and vice versa). That's why sometimes
you could hero names appearing as a counter and as being countered, as on image:
You can also add your own tips, update old data and fix mistakes by editing page on Dota 2 Wiki (it works like Wikipedia - anyone can contribute, you don't even need to register) these edits will appear on this website automatically (data is updated several times per week).
Right now there is no app/overlay that will detect picks automatically (like overwolf dota plus or become the gamer), instead, you can open web version in a steam in-game browser or use mobile version on your smartphone.

Tinker
* His global teleportation with
Boots of Travel and
Rearm is easily countered with Haunt, and Spectre can reach him anywhere on the map.
Laser's blind isn't reliable, since Desolate cannot miss.
* He is squishy, and if alone Desolate will kill him very fast.
*
Oracle
* Oracle's burst damage is ineffective against
Dispersion.
* Disarm provided by Fate's Edict is not as significant debilitation for Spectre as it might be for other carries since She can do damage even without landing attacks.
